I've had my 5793 for a couple of months. Got the nice 8800 GTX video card, 4 gigs of memory.
Installed Vista 64 bit OS, all drivers. Works great.
Installed SP1 and after a few days, I started to get the BSOD. I noticed this only occured while on Battery.
I checked the System Logs and there were mutiple entries from the WHEA logger. Corrected Machine check, Memory Hierarchy Error, etc. I would get 4 or 5 entries and then the machine would Blue Screen and reboot.
I called Sager and they were stumped.
I replaced the memory, took out the Turbo memory, etc.
Same results.
I installed XP - NO ISSUES
I then installed Vista 32bit and 64 bit - NO BSOD While on Battery.
I then istalled Vista SP1 and BAM - while on battery same issue cropped up again.
So there is something with Vista SP1 and the 5793 8800GTX combo that is causing this.
Sager wants my notebook back.
I have done some diggin on the net and there are similar issues with Vista SP1 causing the same problems (different hardware).
Anybody here have similar issues with their 5793 8800GTX and Vista SP1?
Thanks!

send it to sager, let them fix it.

Vista SP1 has a number of issues still, its not just you.
And its not the notebook.... so do not send it back.
I recommend to use Vista (non SP1) or XP. -

I have had zero issues with SP1. Sent it to Sager.

I bought Vista 64bit license key but install it with a copy of MSDN slipstream Vista 64bit SP1 without any problem
(although the wireless..)

got m 5793 back from sager today. They replaced the mother board. Fired it up and the very first screen I get is recovering from unexpected shutdown. Well that means that it bluescreened, or he just did a hard shutd down on the sager tech right before he boxed it up to send it back. I got the 5793 booted up and then unplugged the power adapter. Almost immediatly I start getting WHEA log errors and then after about 10 minutes BSOD. I called sager, and they want me to send it back again. Sorry guys, but after almost 8 weeks of back and forth and I still don't have a laptop that works, I might be giving up on Sager. I have delt with the larger guys for over 15 years and at this point I would have had a new laptop and Dell, or Sony, or Thoshiba would be "fixing" the broken laptop on there time, not mine. They offer a great product at a very nice price, but if it doesn't work................

I am sorry to hear that.May be they didn't get you well?I would try one more time if I were you.
if you really don't want it,get a refund if possible or sell it.Just my cents. -
I dont think they'll give you a refund? If you want to just get rid of it, send it to me -
Complain harshly to them that you sent the system and they sent you back a lemon.
Be very specific about the issue and be sure to mention how long you were without the laptop.
