Well my 8800M GTX bit the bullet like many others. tried popping it in the oven and it still didn't work.
Just recently i sent it back to my vendor and i was told that it would cost somewhere around 900$ to replace the card. 900$ is probably more than the laptop is worth now.
So i came running back to NBR to see what options i have as far as video cards go.

I think your highest option is a GTX 280m that is an MXM 2.1 Type III variant. It's still going to be expensive, however. Granted, it is a better card than the 8800m GTX was.

The 9800M GTS is by far the most economic choice. You won't even lose much performance from the 8800M.
You can probably offer less than the $325. -
wow great find kevin, appreciate it! looks like this may be my next card.

I have a good idea of what might be wrong with your card, as this happened to me a while back. Let me know if you are looking to get it fixed or get rid of the old card, I'm interested in taking a look.

Would the 260m not work?

Great price! Maybe something you would like to look into. -

Be careful! GTX 260m/ 280m are NOT supported by the BIOS!
