Would the following gpu work in my notebook :

    Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 Penryn 2.53GHz 3MB L2 Cache Socket P 25W Dual-Core Mobile Processor Model BX80577P8700 ?

Not looking for a huge jump in performance, but for the price $219.00 @ newegg, would possibly get the job done for another year, before buying a new pc.

My current set-up has run everything I've thrown at it, but noticing games , like Fallout: NV min. requirements are 2.4., are becoming more the norm.

    Any suggestions are welcome !

    No. Get T9500 X9000 instead.

    Hello,

no, that CPU has the 1066 FSB and is not supported - you could use a T9300 (2,5 GHz) oder T9500 (2,6 GHz), if you got the extreme Edition you can use the X9000/ X7800/ X7900 too.

Thanks for the quick replies ! Found a T9500 on Ebay, new for $199.00

Don't think I can beat that and like I said , just trying to bump up the horsepower some without breaking the bank as by this time next year I'll be in the market for a new Sager with the latest bell's and whistles !

    Thanks again ! ;)

If you want to try and wait for a good deal you can score an X9000 for only about $75 more than that.
