    Hola,
    Long time reader, first time poster. I have done the searches but I haven't really found much of an answer to this question.

    I'm picking up a 5793 on the 20th, when they come back in stock, and also upgrading the processor with either of the two extreme processors.

    I have read some good things about the x9000 but almost nothing about the x9100. I can pick up a x9100 QS for only about 50 bucks more then the x9000 but I don't know how well it's supported/used. I plan to of course OC as long as I don't blow the temp too high of course!

    For roughly 1700ish final price, I'll have a 5793 with an extreme processor -- seems pretty unmatched atm for that pricepoint!

    Thanks for any replies,
    Matt

    X9100 will not work in M57RU, already tried....Get X9000, it´s the most powerful CPU in SRR platform.

    The 5793 will not take an x9100 as it is the newer "montevina" line of processors and the m570ru only accepts the "santa rosa" processors (up to x9000)

    Thanks,
    That clears that up -- can't remember where I saw it taking the x9100. I'm guessing I must have misread the RU for the RU-U.

    Man, this is one of the most informative laptop boards out there! I know I wanted to go QS over ES but anything thing else to look for when picking up a X9000? Are there any in the 9k series that I should avoid or are any of the QS ok? I believe I was looking at a QS Q174 as the Q4GY had potential heat issues.

    Thanks again!

    5790/1/2 = RU
    5793 = RU-U
    5796 = TU

    The only laptop in the 570 line that can take the x9100 is the M570TU
