Im might be in the market to get a sager for gaming and general computer. The 9262 seems too big a machine for me. what is the difference between the 5791 and 5793.
    Thanks for any info

Though I don't understand what you mean with your first sentence, the main difference between the 5791 and 5793:

5793 like 5792 has new MB revision to house the 8800M GTX
5793 has support for the X9000 CPU and improved CPU heatsink
5793 has new chassis with "extreme edition" on the bottom

Also the 5793 has an extra fan connector on the MB that's not used yet, but probably you can eventually find a use for it.

you question is weird lol, there are only 2 laptops been confirmed with 9800m series which are m570tu (5794) and m860tu. they are both equal or smaller size than 5793.

    @Nirvana - I think he meant 9 series as in the 9262...

@deeppowder - The 5793 is simply a newer version of the 5791/5792 so you won't find anywhere selling new 5791's

    The difference is 2.
    :D

5791 is stuck to the 7950GTX/8700M GT technically, but it can use the 8800M GTX also.
The 5792 was the first to support fully the 8800M GTX
The 5793 is the updated version of the 5792 with added support and overclocking options for extreme CPUs.

Sorry after re-reading my post it was confusing.
Yes by 9 series I did mean the 9262. I have seen some 5791 with the 8800gtx. Will the 8800gtx not run at full strength on the 5791?. I do realize that only the 5793 is sold now but im looking to get a slightly used one. My budget is around 1800.
Thanks for the replies and sorry of the confusing post.

It looks like zfactor already has a buyer. If no, im interested. im not in any huge rush so I figure it will happen when it happens. If a 9262 is available at a good price(I know rambo just sold his) it will be tempting. How much more powerful is the 9262 compared to the 5793?. I dont need three hard drives. Also how is the screen quality on sagers?. My m1530 has an LG screen and it is great.
Thanks for all the help. Im sure ill be hangin around the clevo/sager forum for a while

9262 is quite powerful compare to 5793 because of higher FSB and desktop processor, not even mentioning SLI.

The Sager NP9262 is, as far as I know, the most powerful commercially available laptop in the world. At least it was when I checked, which was like a week ago. :D :p The 5793 is extremely powerful, but it will get blown out of the water by the mighty 9262

I own a 5791 with the 1900x1200 glossy screen. It's just amazing!!! It's by far, the best screen I've ever had.

Still,LED screens should be much better.
I'd say go for the 9262 regardless ...

    So...

recapitulating, the difference between the Sager 5970, 5971 and 5793 is small? No big hardware differences?

Because from the reviews I read, it gives the impression that the fans of the 5793 are louder than the 5790/5971. Or is this an illusion? :p

It's probably the other way around. the 5791 fans are louder.

It was a general statement, I`ve seen LED screen on the xps 1530 compared to standard LG screens, and man they looked nice,
I gotta get me one of those...
