the GTS is a rare card in notebooks. I, atleast haven't seen too many but would like to seeing as its inbetween the 8700 and 8800GTX. Its quite a price jump between those two.

The HP HDX and the Gateway P-FX series are the ones that I am aware of. If you look at the HDX pricing its a $250 premium for the GTS over the the HD2600 from ATI on that machine. Theres a reasonable chance its not much more for the GTX. No machines currently have both options -- but its unlikey more than a $100 difference.

In the next month or so? no.
Maybe in the future...but Sagers seem to favour extreme performance(8800M GTX) so the GTS may not show up as an option...

How about importing it? That would be far cheaper.

well its 250 shipping 10% conversion to AUS then 10% Tax and 50 import fees.. makes a 2500 laptop 3350 + 500bucks+ per warranty hand in 250each way.

sigh but the gateway at 1199 us or what ever.. sounds alot nicer shame gateway closed down in Australia.

i may have to wait to a Ugly dell gets a 8800GTX/GTS or 3870 or some thing and use student dicount/coopons to get a 3000ish price..

3400 is doable but i feel worried about loosing it.

not in the Australian dell store yet.. they come Monday... they will prob be 4k+... be nice if in Australia they cap the price abit... but when u look at the 15inch alienware GTX going for 4.6 or some thing with the GTX in it... i have a feeling the duel GTX 1730 will be 5000 or so... but ill wait n c.

be nice if some one made a list of all the "new gen" laptops ones with GTS and GTX cards in them.. beacuse they are like a massive leap ahead of the rest. factors of 40-50%

I wouldn't pay a ridiculous amount of money for a laptop just because it's called Alienware.
PS: Forgot there is a second page for this thread :).
