Guys im planning on getting P150EM-SE, i cant get 7970m, cuz its out of my budget, nor 680m.
So im trying to decide between 660m and 670m
I know 670 performs better, but also 660m drivers are really green.. so maybe it will perform the same in the future, with the addition of adaptive vsync dx11.1 etc etc.

So what do you guys say?

    PS:
Im not getting 150EM (the one without bl keyboard) because of the ruberized finish and the backlit keyboard.

Any other adive will be very helpfull.

Im putting in 1600ish USD, probably buying from MALIBAL, and i NEED 16GB ram and would not like to lose the SSD 128 (crucial m4 is my choice).

The 670M is just a rebadged 570M with slightly higher stock clocks (I think). I don't have experience with either, but the 660M is going to draw much less power and run cooler since it's a true Kepler, and performance wise shouldn't be much behind the 670. It's overclockable, and I bet someone who has the card could say how far you can push it, so the 660M is probably the better buy.

If you look at this chart here, you can restrict the list to just the 670m (which, again, is just the 570m) and the 660m. I just had a look through with those two cards, and they seem *very* close to each other in performance. You can decide for yourself, but I would recommend choosing the 660m because it seem just as fast while remaining more energy efficient.

Maybe 1600MHz RAM instead of 1333MHz RAM, but if that can't fit into you budget, I understand.

You are going with Malibal because of their option for a 660m, correct?

Have you looked into the MSI GE-60. That has a 660 with DDR5 and its a thinner laptop. Its also at least 1 pound lighter. If I was not into gaming so much that would be my next laptop.

This is a very good recommendation. The only think you might not like is the keyboard isn't backlit. If this isn't a total deal-breaker for you, I suggest you look into it!

Thanks everyone, im not getting GE60 because of the design to be honest, its a good machine, but for me p150em look nicer, and the back of the ge60 with MSI logo, i dont like that...

about 1600, i need 16gb cuz of virtualization, and going for 1600 will make me drop to 12GB and the performance is not that much, i prefer another virtual server running.

Keep the feedback coming, i really apreciate it!

Third vote for the MSI, i'd take the goofy looks and non-backlit to save a pound and thickness if you are hauling it around much.
Sager/MSI fans often bounce between the two brands

Keep in mind the RAM upgrades through the resellers are about double what you can buy the ram for yourself & do a self-install.

I'm also looking at the same laptop. I also noticed they are giving away a $50 gift certificate for everyone that joins there forum and post 5 quality posts; however, there forum seems to be down.

Did you end up going with the 660m?
