Hi everyone, my problem is that when i use nvidia inspector or gpuz my 680M clocks are allways at 719mz for core and 1800mhz for memory all the time, even when i am not doing something. so is this normal? shouldn't the clocks clock down to idle? I have tried almost every driver even the last one( 306.97) still the same problem. If someone could help or give a hint i would apreciate. Thx in advance

I have the same issue with my laptop - with any GPU monitoring service. I am pretty positive the issue lies with Optimus, because the monitoring program is constantly pulling info from the GPU, then Windows switches back to the integrated video, then back to dedicated to pull info for monitoring program, and on and on, so the GPU never downclocks.

    same here.

have you got optimus. im guessing when you are not doing anything stressful it automatically switches back to HD4000 and nvidia inspector is just reading the last reading and the 680 is turned off.

I have this only with the new 306.97 WHQL.

With my previous driver, the 306.02 from laptopvideo2go it is perfectly fine at 135 Mhz at idle.

Thx for your replys guys. Yes i also have optimus. In a clevo 170hm. Glad its a common thing and not something only on my system. Sirana but can you see those clocks with nvidia inspector or other monitoring tool? For now i'll stick with 306.97 and see how it goes.

Yes it does, but the thing is that we only see 3d clocks (stock 719mhz on core and 1800mhz on memory) all the time. Sirana said he was seeing 153 mhz in idle.
