    Hey peeps

I am buying my laptop soon but because i figured out 1200 gbp may be a lot at the end of the day for a gaming laptop, i wanted to reduce the price a bit.

If i go for 6970 instead of 6990 do you think it wont be futureproof? like i used to be a hardcore gamer or so, but now only games i think i will play will be Skyrim/BF3 and GUildwars 2. the first two are very demanding so i guess i will be ok for the later years as well. the difference between the two for the update is approx 100 english pounds. is it worth it for the 15% performance?

Seems to me you have already made your choice, my friend. :) Keep in mind both cards are absolute beasts.

But if you are truly serious about playing those games well...buy or build a desktop. That's the best, most effective and cheapest way to stay current.

I personally would not pay 100 GBP for just a 15% increase.

I would advise against that, seeing that there are some bad 6970m GPU out there and that bring your temperature up to a whopping 97c

Ya I was originally going to go for the 6970m also but when I heard that the 6990m was coming out I decided to go with that because i didn't want to worry to much about heat problems. Also I don't ever plan on upgrading my GPU so I want it to last as long as possible. I think their was just a bad batch of 6970m, so I think its fine now but either way the 6970/6990m are both beast cards.
