Hey guys. I am a proud owner of Sager NP 8150 for several years, and recently I am noticing a problem when playing requiring games ( such Rome 2 Total War, Medieval Two; Assassins Creed).
While the FPS seem to be the same as before, there is strange stuttering while in game. I immediately tried a benchmark and again the results were the same as before. Still even in a game released more than 10 years ago - Medieval 2 Total War, I am encountering this strange stuttering.
Do you guys have any ideas for resolving the problem ?

ps. Happy new year ! :p

    Happy new year!

Have you used a monitoring utility to watch your GPU utilization and temps? You can try reloading or updating the video driver, and keep an eye on your GPU's temperatures while gaming.

It could also be cause by heat. Have you cleaned it out recently by opening up the bottom and cleaning out any dust that has built up on the fans/vents. Maybes it hitting a certain temp and then throttling the GPU and you get that stutter.

Some old games, which were optimized for nvidia cards, used to stutter on my 6990m in the past too.
My friend with a desktop, hes got a HD 7770 inside, has the same stuttering problems with the same games I had problems with.

One of the games in question was Freelancer (made from Microsoft and Digital Anvil).
On a Nvidia based PC, there is no stuttering whatsoever.

But you said there wasnt any stuttering before, so that's confusing.
Have you fiddled around with drivers recently?

P.S. I figgured out, you didn't mention if you had a Hard Drive or an SSD in your machine (where the games are installed).
On a hard drive, sometimes when its heavily fragmented, or currently in-use, games might stutter, especially if they are loading resources frequently.
It might be the source of the stuttering, since your FPS remains the same as before.
