    Hi,

I'm not sure if my temperature for the 6990m is normal. My sager model is the np8170 with IC diamond compound.

Here are a few pics after running starcraft 2 on ultra. No fn+1 on. Stock Clocks.
It reached 85degrees C when gaming. Even when at 100/150 clock the temps stay around 46-53. My room temperature is around 19-22 degrees C.
I also held the back of the laptop up with bottle caps for better air ventilation.

I had read other threads. People with the ICD with the more confined 8150 get about 5-7 degrees lower temps compared to my 8170. The card works fine. It shouldnt be defected.

Could it be the pastes were poorly pasted?

another question is... gpu-z cuts off some parts of the status.. i cant scroll down. How can i fix that?

    Thanks

85C is a perfectly fine temperature when you're under load. You can leave it as it is and not have anything to worry about. If you started seeing them over 90C then you'd probably want to consider repasting or other more drastic measures.

As it is, you're fine :)

Those temps look really good seeing as the 6990M runs very hot compared to other cards.

My P150HM 6990M hits 86 with stock fans and ICD7 on SC2 and/or BF3 (room temp 20-22). It used to hit 96 on stock paste before I re-pasted with ICD7.

If you are still concerned you can always force full fans and/or get a laptop cooler but tbh, I wouldn't worry.

85C under load is a great temperature.
Please keep in mind that your laptop should have a thermal shutdown point of 110C to prevent damage to your GPU.
So unless you are hitting high 90C I really wouldn't worry too much about it.

    Thank You.

It is good to know my temps are good. It really surprised me when people claiming they get around 74-77 degrees. Some over clocked to 800/1000 get 85-90...

You have to also remember that not all cards are created equal ;)

    Exactly, Hizzaah.
When the cards are manufactured they have certain tolerances and specifications. So long as the card is built within those specifications and the card does not hug the upper temperature limits, they consider it to be within spec.
Some people just get really lucky.

85C is normal. When gaming, press FN+1 to set the fans to max RPM and see what the temp is.
