Whenever I play battlefield 3, the temps on my p150hm go above 90 degrees. This is on a NZXT Cryo lx at full fan speed. The max so far was 98 degrees C.
Have I disabled the fan?I usually press Fn +1, but when I dont, the GPU fans doesnt seem to be going 100% when I am playing battlefield 3.Is there a fan setting I should be aware of?

Wow that's really hot. 100*C is the thermal shutdown temp... Does it only get this hot while playing BF3? What thermal paste do you have on the gpu?
Also I do believe any temp over 90*C should max out the fans already. That's bios controlled.

BF3 is the most GPU stressful game I play.Other games it is hovering around the 88*C range.

I have IC Diamond 7 which has been installed by the reseller.

How long have you had your notebook? What is the ambient room temperature?

Are you using overclock? I think you may need a repaste.

If you had overclocked it, that does explain the dramatic increase. Still even with slightly overclocked and IC 7 in place(assuming your reseller did indeed apply on it), temperature shouldn't have climbed all the way to the top. Something could be fishy inside that system of yours.

I average 85 degrees when I play BF3. Temps drop 4-5 degree when my lappy is on it's cooler. Maybe its time to blow the dust out of your laptop? =?

    hey guys,

I use prolimatech PK-1 paste and I never exceed 67 deg F. Measured using hwinfo 64 compal gpu temp.

I am not referring to mem io and shader temps.

Give the prolimatech pk1 a try and see if that helps.

Hmm, can we request for retailer's to use PK1 paste during the build?

Lol, i had a bad experience with repasting my Acer 4820tg, but I should assume Clevo is much easier to do this?

Are you sure you mean F and not C? At that rate, it would be an effective air conditioner and lower than ambient temps for most (which just can't happen, as it's producing heat and is cooled by surrounding air). Even in C that would be a fairly good reading.

He must have meant C, cause 67F is liquid nitrogen cooled.

    Hello,
I just bought a P180HM with 6990m xfire. Have you guys had an issue with throttling when the GPU reaches high temps?

I bought an ACER 5755g-6823 Xmas and it throttles like mad! The kicker is the gt540m is hovering at 60c and the CPU at 70c. Temps far below max rated temps.

I do use a cooler and I repasted using noctua NT-H1. I even modifed the bottom plastic cover by cutting holes in appropriate locations and adding metal grill covers (for protection) to improve air flow.
