I have a Sager 5760. I inserted a SD memory card into the 7-in-1 card reader slot, but WinXP isn't detecting it. I know the card reader works, as I can mount the card in Ubuntu, so I'm guessing it's a Windows driver issue. Under the Windows device manager is lists 'SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller', which I'm guessing is the controller for the card reader. Windows lists it as working properly. What could be the problem? Is there a new driver available for it?

What's the capacity of the SD card that you're trying to open?

4GB. It's a Transcend SD HC, if that means anything.

    Ahh...
Windows XP cannot recognize more than 2GB sd cards.
You have an SD High Capacity card so in order to read that card with XP you need this hotfix ;)

I tried to install the hotfix, but it said that there was no need to install it since I'm running XP/sp3.
