Well my 7200 shipped yesterday I should get it tomorrow.

    Specs:
    980X
    480 SLI
    12GB 1333
240GB Vertex 2 (needs to be installed and windows installed on the drive)
500GB hybrid drive (Current C: drive will get moved to D: when Vertex is in place)
    Blu Ray writer

I am interested in which Benchmarks I should use to test this thing out. I will not overclock this machine, except for maybe Turbo mode if such exists. I have Mafia 2 so I will max it out and run the benchmark. I have Bf BC2. I will download Vantage.

I know of the power supply issue so I will not run the benchmark combo that seems to cause issues. This is primarily a work machine and will get gamed on when I have the chance.

    Any suggestions?

    can you please run these tests;

1] a 20 minute furmark stress test along with the prime 95 test running simultaneously to check for system tempuratures.

2] - crysis internal benchmark GPU batch file (the batch file located within the game's folder itself) all very high settings @ 1080p no AA to check average fps

    3] unigine 2.1 benhcmark on default settings @ 1080p

    4] unigine 2.1 benchmark on extreme settings with 8x AA @ 1080p

    5] vantage on default settings

6] final fantasy benchmark utility in low pass

7] final fantasy benchmark utility in high pass

and that is all. no other benchmarking is required. these are the most demanding applications on the gpu that also have a proper benchmark utility. do not benchark anything with fraps while playing a game.

i also want to add that there is a recall on the psu for this system. if the laptop shuts down during the furmark / prime95 test then go ahead and skip this test until the replacement psu comes in and just check the other benchmarks as i noted.

Well I am 110% confident that we are not going to see an Alienware branded x7200 so that is not the reason I am guessing.....

Currently Alienware is doing all their business with Flextronics which competes against Clevo in laptop space

I still am sticking by what I said. Alienware is not the old Alienware any more, it is Dell on steroids. Have you ever seen Dell use a clevo design EVER?

They will stick with an ODM that gives them full engineering input on the design and functionality of the laptop, something that Clevo does not do. Clevo says "here is what we made, throw your sticker on it"

I completely agree. I haven´t argued about that (or anything for that matter) at all :)

    We love you too :)

EDIT: I guess my previous post was slightly misleading. I corrected it.

Looks like the temps were measured after the test, not during. You should see 70's in the max column.

Hmm, your Crystal mark scores should be higher if you're running three SF-1200 based drives (Those OWC Mercury drives). I get better sequential read and writes with two Crucial C300s in RAID 0:

My 4k reads and writes are laughable though, but they say it's an intel chipset issue for the m17x? not sure, but you have me beat on that as well as the other read speeds...
