Just ordered a np9150 yesterday and I'm starting to wonder if it would it be better to keep the 750gb HDD or 500gb HDD and a 32gb mSATA SSD? What are the advantages to having both a HDD and mSATA SSD? Is having both worth the $60 difference? I'm already quite over budget (Total with the 750gb is $1349, budget was under $1200) but figure since I'm spending this much money, so why not?
Also would you guys recommend getting the SSD with the laptop or should I just buy it separately and install myself? I found some that are cheaper on amazon, but would this be the better way to go and just stick with the cheaper 750gb?

when you are buying a very fast lappy then i would bite the bullet and go for the biggest ssd you can afford. it will be cheaper buying yourself and updating later.
slowest to fastest 5400rpm > 7200rpm > msata > ssd
my boot up time at the moment is 12 seconds or there abouts while my previous clevo with 7200rpm is round abouts 25-30 seconds. -

Are the options:
1. 750GB
or
2. 500GB w/ 32GB mSATA
If those are the options then 2 is the way to go. While mSATA/SSD wont affect gaming performance it will make the overall speed of the computer feel much faster as their read/write are 2-4X faster then a platter drive.. Regular hard drives have been used for 10+ years and just recently with SSD technology has that been improved. Getting SSD into the computer will make more of a noticeable difference then any other upgrade you can do. However they are also one of the easiest parts for user install so if you're over budget now you can always add one when you're ready. -
I've been using regular 7200rpm HDDs in my laptops for about 8 years, and after recently tasting the joy of an SSD in my brothers new Dell ultrabook, I don't think I'll ever go back.
Definitely the second option, you won't regret it! And hey, since you've already gone over your budget, might as well go the whole nine yards -

The 500GB + mSATA SSD will give you that extra "umph" in performance. Think of it like one of the Momentus hybrid drives, where the solid state portion acts as cache. Different in setup, but similar in theory.
You get extra gigs out of the first option, is all.
750gb HDD or 500gb HDD and a 32gb mSATA SSD?
