Hello guys, i have a problem with my graphics card. Since i updated to windows 10, i havent managed to get my 765m to work.
no matter what driver i try to install it always shows the yellow triangle in device manager

I've installed all the latest driver from nvidia's homepage and also tryed nvidia experience.
When i uninstall my driver i use DDU.
anybody have tried this problem before?

I have a Clevo w230st btw

Maybe try uninstalling the Nvidia driver, then the Intel driver, restart, then reinstalling the Intel, then Nvidia. sometimes they don't like to play nicely together and checking both might help.
-
I already tried uninstalling nvidia drivers and intel drivers with DDU, but i unintalled the nvidia drivers first, and then i uninstalled the intel drivers. -
I will now try uninstalling intel drivers first and then nvidia after. and then comeback with the results.
btw im installing intel drivers with intel driver utilly 2.2, and downloading the latest drivers for my graphics card at nvidia's website. I choose the latest driver 355.82 for windows 10 64-bit.
as operating system i have windows 10 pro 64 bit -
I now tried to do the following and still have the problem..
i feel like i have tried anything. in GPU-z it detects my graphics card. but it's always running 0 mhz so it only uses the intel 4600 hd -

Just as a test have you tried disabling driver signing enforcement?
-
I just disable the driver signing enforcement, but after trying to update the driver it stills shows the yellow triangle failure sign

Yes i've tried to uninstall my nvidia drivers with DDU and let windows manager automatically install the graphics driver. - but it still show the yellow triangle..

Have you tried uninstaling and reinstalling without using DDU? Not sure if there is any issue with it, but it might be worth a shot to try.
-
Yes, i just did it again to make sure, and yet still the yellow triangle shows
- maybe the GPU is dead?

Maybe try looking into Prema's BIOS if it's available for your laptop.
-
Just updated my bios to prema mod v2. - I'd never used prema mod before - i still have the failure sign after prema mod installation. What should i look for in the bios to detect if my GPU is dead?
-
It's so weird because, after updating from windows 8 to windows 10, it showed a problem with the graphics driver. So i did a clean install of windows 10 after updating because of driver problems. and ever since i have experienced problems with my GPU and some problem with my keyboard. Some buttons doesnt register at the first click.. ex. buttom number 9 needs to be pressed serveral times before registrering.. - i'm now considering doing another clean install of windows 10 to see if it helps.
but now i have a question, after updateing to prema mod v2, will the windows 10 key still be stashed in my bios? - just to make sure i after formatting wont experience product key problems. -
Why don't you install windows 8 first to see if the gpu is working there ?
-
i guess your right. maybe i should try that first
-
well.. just did a clean install of windows 8.1 pro, and i still have the yellow triangle, even when i go to the clevo website and find the drivers that they recomment. - i think the gpu is dead. When i try to go to the nvidia control panel, it says that "it can't open because there is no connected monitor to the GPU"

It does seem that way sadly which would mean a motherboard replacement would be required to fix it.
-
Seems like a poor connection to the igpu(+display). With a dead-dead gpu it would've have let you install the driver at all.
Think there's a few options, cheapest first:
- bake trick (~$1.00, for electricity bill)
- bga swap (~$100)
- new motherboard ($300)
-
Is it possible/safe to bake the whole motherboard ?
-
No, probably not. PCB itself can handle it, but the trouble is all the little plastic connectors. You'd need to use a heat gun to keep high temperature localised or some way to keep the rest cool. Really needs a rework station to do properly ...
At $200 ... that's ... hard to believe. Tempting, tempting ...
