    Hi all,
As soon as I received my laptop from Sager I decided the first 3 things I'd install were to be Firefox, 3dMark11 and Vantage.

After doing so, I was kind of disappointed with my results. Unfortunately I don't have them anymore, but I have some new ones.

My issue was that my laptop with the 7970M wasn't performing to expectations. I was getting a score of below P5400. That wasn't acceptable for me, and me being me I have to tinker until I get what I want.

So let me explain why I started this thread. I started it because we currently have some 15-20 different threads all over the forums for issues on Sagers (and it could be the same issues with other brands as well). Its become quiet annoying trying to sif through all the pages on the forums to find that I saw 15 days ago (for example).

I'll explain my issue here and how I fixed it. This thread can be used as a solution/issue thread, as I'll try to update it everyday with a table of contents linked to the issue/solutions posted.

If we can keep this format for those of us that have solved their issue.

    ISSUE: Title of issue
Followed by the description of the issue, repeatable steps, questions.

Write SOLUTION in font size 7 and bold to state this is the solution you came up with.
Solutions should go into a QUOTED box as such

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Now for my experience:

    ISSUE: Poor Benchmarks/Performance
I was getting under P5300 in 3dMark11. I tried everything from putting power management to High Performance, and setting the program switchable graphics. Nothing worked, until I found my solution.

    SOLUTION
I'll edit this post once we get to about 5 pages (if we do) with a table of contents and I'll move my issue/solution to another post in the thread.

This is what a lot of people use:
    Drivers – BenchmarK3D

At least I think the second one is the "modded" 12.6 driver

BTW was this in Entry/Performance/Extreme mode?

The desktop HD 7850 gets less than that in performance mode. The desktop 7870 in fact gets a 6200 (graphics). http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1863/11/
If that was your preset, this looks like good news.
