I'm on 13.6 and am only getting 30-40% utilization in BF4. What's the best enduro driver these days?

They'll hopefully release new drivers to fix that, thats one of the reasons they release Beta versions to see what people report.

Thats false reading. With theese modified LeeKM driver you'll always get 99% usage in monitoring programs, but I found the performance simmiliar if not the same as with normal drivers. The best bet to go now is with the 13.10 beta 2, but still, usage isnt great- around 50-60%. But you wont do anything with it, users are reporting bad usage on high end desktop pc, so we'll probably need to wait for some further optimization of the game itself..

There are the new 13.10 Beta 2 drivers just posted yesterday AMD Catalyst
They specifically say "Includes a single GPU, and AMD Crossfire™ game profile for Battlefield 4™" so they should help out a bunch.

Yeah I figured they were false. My temps did go up 10c and my fps went from 20-30 to 40-50 so they definitely helped. Also stability has improved. I used to have to unplug the power before booting up or I'd get bsods. Now this is a non issue.

You just need to disable ulps in the registry to get correct readings(you need to do this for OC'ing with afterburner anyway)

I have only tried the 13.10 beta 2 drivers with BF4 (upgraded before I played), but I only get 30-50% utilization. Don't expect a great fix.

If I play on ultra I get 85-95% usage, only when you lower the settings the fps goes up a bit but usage goes down

I use hwinfo64. Its logviewer loads all data and spits out any graph you want: LogViewer for HWINFO is available !

Have fraps running and you get a graph of your fps too:

Sorry if I misslead you, those arent my own graphs. It is BF4 though, but I think its from a desktop. I just threw them in to show how the graphs looked and I had those links fresh in memory.

Since we´re talking about I might as well post my own :)
    This is 1080p, all low. 13.10 beta1

Edit: Sold myself too short, must have been on auto preset. This is actually all low, avg 56 instead of 43:

i get around 30-40 average on ultra settings. Problem is, I probably gain around only 5-10 fps on average on low setting. This seems too small a gain for such a high graphical difference. Now before everyone starts blaming enduro, I think even HM users arent getting much better fps on low as the guy above me just posted. I would like to think that just turning a couple of settings down should be able to get me around 60 fps constant...but it doesn't seem to be working like that =(

I just tried high preset, avg fps 35. Did not feel smooth, several dips below 30.
    Medium preset avg fps 45.
Low preset avg fps 45-48 (56 above was a round of heli, mostly sky).

So roughly 10 fps for me going from high to low.

Don't forget like half of the settings don't work yet guys.. The most fps determining settings can't be altered(actually they can in the menu, but they don't do anything)

I think memory clocks are going to have a big impact for the 7970M in this one.

I dont think there is anything that will run this beta that well as im getting max 33 to 43f avg fps on ultra with aa off. on all low i only get a pathetic 10 fps increase.

this junk performance is to be expected though as i can pretty much guarantee the main goal of the open beta was to test server load and net code more then anything else

Even if the main purpose of the beta was to check the netcode, I see no reason why EA would purposely give us bad performance. That would only deter people from buying the finished product if they feel it isn't going to run well on their machines anyways. This logic just doesn't make sense anyway you look at it =/

Same think happened with BF3. The open beta had a lousy performance and quite a few glitches. They'll get around it, or AMD/Nvidia will with subsequent driver updates. Wouldn't worry too much.

Really at this point I think they realize new customers aren't really a thing that requires a lot of effort for them. Mainly - its repeat customers who are going to buy on blind faith that they will make it work eventually.

Well there are notable visual differences so the changes are being applied, the drivers and game just need some tweaking I think.

The more I play and read I think we are going to end up deleting what we current have and downloading an entirely new package when it comes time for the launch of the actual game.

Beta is beta after all, I've had some decent results so far:

    BF4

    BF4 2

So with some tweaking the 7970M should improve.

I cant wait to get an overvolt into my card to be able to run a little higher clocks like you are. I'm right on that cusp of having alright/decent frames. I know when Im able to overvolt and get a little extra core and memory clock speeds in this thing - I'll be good to go for sure. It'll be nice to see what happens to BF3 frams too!

Well that was the 780M but the 7970M should not be far off considering the relationship between AMD and EA.
