Hi Everyone,
I recently upgraded to Windows 10, and after doing so MSI Afterburner no longer allowed me to OC my card. I've downloaded new AMD drivers and have tried various version of MSI Afterburner, but no luck. Has anyone run into this? If so, were you able to find a solution?
Here's my basic info:
NP9150
Win 10 64-bit
7970m w/ Crimson 16.7.3 drivers
MSI Afterburner 4.2.0
After opening a freshly installed MSI Afterburner I saw the core clock and memory clocks were maxed out (850/1200 I believe). I closed out of afterburner and proceeded to set EnableULPS to 0. I then created a copy of the MSI Afterburner config file and entered the EULA and changed UnofficialOverclockingMode to 1. I then replaced the original config file with this modified version. I also added the atipdl64 and atipdlxx .dll files to the MSI Afterburner folder in program files.
Now after opening opening afterburner I see the core clock and memory clock values stuck at 0, unable to move, where in Win 7 I saw 850/1200, but with additional room on the sliders.
I tried to check the box marked "Extend official overclocking limits" in the Afterburner settings, but it won't take and unchecks its self upon closing out of the settings.
Anyone have any thoughts? I'm hoping it's something simple that my naive self is missing.
Thanks in advance for your time and assistance. I really appreciate it!

Did you consider a flash of the modified V-bios? I think this would be a much more convenient way.
btw
With colleagues we came to the conclusion that Win10 does not allow the graphics card to enter "sleep mode" so 7970m in win10 is always active, which can have a direct impact on the lifetime of the product, and operation time on battery.
Here you can see what i mean, on start programs can read information properly, and when i stop render test they all have some "issue" with reading the 7970m(win7x64):

7970m is not best idea because of low quality of the card itself.

What do you mean by "low quality"?

I think what he may be referring to is a high failure rate. Quite a few members of our community have had 7970M cards that failed or had issues with malfunction. Some had had no issues. The worst ones seem to have been those that were among the earliest released parts. Those released later on as GCN matured seem to be more durable.
