Really the only word I can use to describe it... Very annoying problem.

Whenever I play skyrim the game is usually fine (especially outdoors, though I do see issues there as well). But as soon as I head indoors with flames the game will do a really annoying jitter effect. Especially if I look right at the flame like a fireplace and such it's EXTREMELY noticeable. My FPS aren't dropping this whole time, still 50+ FPS...

Any idea what the cause of this is and what I could do to fix it? Thanks guys.

Does it happen when you look down and run in a circle? If so it is an issue with Amd drivers all around and the only real way to fix it is to run the game in window mode. There is a mod out there that makes it borderless and is pretty easy to install. I haven't looked any more into it to be honest.

I have the same issue and Xtrophy is correct. If you run the game in windowed mode the stuttering goes away. This of course sucks because there's a significant framerate drop for having to run it in windowed mode. I usually only get 40-50 fps when I'm outside or near heavy indoor lighting effects.

Hmmm, I don't seem to be encountering any stuttering issues (that I know of) but I do seem to be getting fairly low FPS compared to others. With everything maxed out (all Ultra/High selections, 8xAA and 16xAF) I only get around 10-15 FPS. To make it playable I can drop down to 4xAA and 8xAF to get around 35-40 FPS.

Note that I do run HD texture mods (among dozens of others) but it still seems a little low to me.

Yeah you've got something else going on then. If I run in fullscreen mode with everything max, even AA and AF, I will get pretty much 60fps constantly. Occasional dips in populated areas but not much. But when I run it like that and look at a close object or strafe a lot (which I do all of the time), there is major frame skipping. The FPS is unaffected though and remains at 60.

Yeah, my fps drops severely in Markarth o.o

but other than looking down while climbing up stairs, it's been smooth 50-60 fps and it's amazing.

The Witcher 2 does this for me(Nvidia) and the only solution that has worked for me is to run it in windowed mode. Could be a similar thing.

Stuttering disappears when run in 3rd person perspective; this is how i have to play skyrim
