Unfortunately, my card is dead. It worked flawlessly for 1 day, but this afternoon, it crashed while i was playing battlefield 3. I did a reboot, i saw the bios screen, but couldn't boot into windows. Then i did another reboot and ... Black screen. I took it out for a while, the card, then reinstall it back to the laptop. Managed to see the bios screen and enter bios. After another reboot, it was the end. Never worked since then.

I have just sent an email to notebookguru/notebookbarebone where i have bought the card and i am waiting for their answer.

I didn't have the opportunity to overclock the card, stock setting, perfect temps at full load, everything was normal. I don't know what to say...

    Thanx for reading this.

if you took it out did you replace the thermal paste as well.
black screen is happening a lot but its actually drivers and not dead cards.
hope it gets replaced for you soon. you will most prob have to rma the laptop back to them.

mhm, lets see, 2 faulty batches, Enduro problems, other various problems, major Crossfire problems, and 7970Ms dead here and there.

    Well done

Wouldn`t actually shock me if we see a lot more dead/faulty 7970Ms the upcoming 6 months. Either because some are part of the faulty batches which the resellers/Clevo/AMD didn`t bother to call back or because of some other hardware issues

Notebookbarebone.de is owned by Michael Seiler who runs notebookguru.de, too. It´s a one-man-company and seems to be known as not very communicative at least AFTER you bought from him :(.
If you google about him you´ll find same bad experiences, and you can read about them here, too:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/reseller-feedback-forum/609725-notebookguru-de.html
I don´t have any experience with him, but I know a person who dealt with him and had a bad experience as well.
Maybe he changed over the years, I hope so for your sake!

I've had my P150EM with 7970M for around 2 months now and no problems. About a week ago I got my first BSOD. Was surprised since I've had no problems with my laptop since I got it. Then I got another a few days ago, and now today I've had them constantly. Sometimes I can't even get anywhere.

I thought it may be a ram issue so I took out one stick and tried each slot but it still happened.

Is this likely to be a 7970M driver issue or a hardware fault?

I`m not looking to scare you "outbrk" but there are reasons why I think there are potential faulty 7970Ms floating around that might break anytime soon. What is faulty, wether they are part of the batch that had broken MXM components or if its the 7970M silicon, I don`t know.

Here is a guy who had the exact symptoms as you. Started out with occationally BSODs, increased BSODs after a while, then game crashes, then dead

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/682362-7970-severe-degradation.html

    Two dead 7970Ms here:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/680089-yep-another-7970m-problem-thread-forgive-me-plz.html

Now one 7970M dead in this thread and perhaps "outbrk" is also going to eventually die.

Everything of this have happend the last 2 months. Who knows what will happen the following months? Something isn`t right...

One last question, thanx for your interest, by they way. Do you think that i might have a chance flashing the latest bios of p150hm? The current bios did recognized the card for one day. Just asking.

Honestly, i don't care about the card, i care about my 500 euros. If he doesn't send the money back, i don't want a new card, then the least the forum can do is to let EVERYONE KNOW about him, first page, do you know what i mean???

In order to exchange it with a new one or money, the seller has to answer my emails... and he doesn't.

To add to the bios flash idea, it wont help.

I have a P150HM and have tried very old bios versions and new bios versions meant for both the P150HM and P170HM and no bios can recognize the 7970M, but that doesn't stop it from working.

What makes you think he will answer tomorrow? The last week i have sent him more than 10 emails. A few days ago, i asked him for a tracking number, silence. I asked him something about my order status, no response. The guy sells the products and after that, he disappears. So, it's not the day, Sunday, it's his everyday-policy.

Ok, the guy has disappeared (as i expected) and i have sent an official complaint to the European Consumer Center. The German office will do the next move. On the other hand, mytlhlogic have already answered to my email. I guess there is no Sunday, night or holidays for professionals.

Just let everyone now, DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM NOTEBOOKGURU/NOTEBOOKBAREBONE!!! Spread it, protect other people from being deceived.

It's just you had bad card like the first GTX680M I got, it also had BSOD at start, died on the 5th day. Now the 2nd GTX680M hasn't had any BSOD yet and its been 2 weeks now. If you are getting BSOD related to the dGPU, your card might really die if your luck isn't good.

In Germany? Probably a wire transfer directly from the bank.

Sheesh, I was considering these guys as well when I bought my laptop. I see that is equally important to know from where you purchase as to what you purchase.

On a personal note - go get 'em. I almost got in the exact same trouble with another cockamamie little German store.
