    Hi,

My p150hm with a 6990m bit the dust.

    I managed to secure a 7970m br42768.008 v1.1.

How to I get the 7970m to be recognized by the p150hm (just black screen).

    Thanks in advance.

Did you get a Clevo branded GPU or was it another brand like a Dell/Alienware. Only Clevo cards will work.

I believe it should be plug and play then. However you may want to update the BIOS on the motherboard. To get the latest version you'll want to request it from your reseller and they can email it to you. You may also want to flash the vBIOS on the GPU as well.

    Malibal.....BWAAHAHA

They never answer email support (since 2012).

So how do I upgrade the vbios from 1.1 to 1.2??

And I hit a snag real fast :(

ATTENTION! There are several different revisions of the 7970M out there, but only one of them (v1.2) works in the HM series laptops! v1.1 and v1.0 DO NOT WORK, no matter what kind of vbios u flash!

I wound up with the v1.1 QQ

Yes, v1.2 is the version with the hand soldered capacitors on it.

I THINK I remember someone saying they got it to work, but we are talking one person over a year ago and I am not 100% on that.

It's not always clear cut like that, MXM can be like that sometimes.
