    8 gig mem on 5793 ?

    I realize that the original BIOs only supported 4 gig memory, but has anyone managed to get 8 gig to work on the Sager 5793?

    kaltmond -- did you have to do anything other than plug the 8GB of RAM into the machine? Any special BIOS or hardware mods?

    I have seen that the Santa Rosa platform notebooks will only utilize up to 6.8 GB of memory.... with two sticks of 4GB physically installed.

    Yeah, that and 8gigs of memory is more expensive than a cheap laptop..i'll pass.
