I have just recently got a 8130 excellent machine.

    2630 cpu temps 50-55
    8gb ram
    Bluray reader
    120 gb x25 m ssd
    460m temps 50-55 idle 55-65 load

I have 2 23 in acer 1080 monitors on my desk on hooked up one through dvi one has hdmi to dvi adapter both set to 1080 laptop display off. Latest sager nvidia drivers installed.

Ok trying to get these to work was a pita. Couple blue screens freezes etc all seem to orginate in the nvida control panel. Anyways the issue is every restart my extended monitor says invalid input till. I drop the resolution on it change happens instantly then it comes on then. I reset it to 1080p it takes like 5 secs to change then I'm good to go. Any ideas sorry for the punctuation phone throws in periods at random.

So you are trying to hook up two monitors to your 8130? What kind of adapter are you using to do this?

Thanks for the response I was happy with my purchase which was with xotic hutsady was a big help. I have 2 monitors both are 1920 x 1080 with dvi or vga inputs. Both work great individually or with the laptop display plus one. The 8130 has support for only 2 displays when I turn off laptop to use 2 external the issue occurs. I have one attached via dvi out on laptop to dvi in on monitor other one uses hdmi out on laptop to dvi in on other monitor using a hdmi cable. (Adapter is dvi to hdmi hooks to monitor and switches dvi to hdmi)

Would a Dvi spltter work or be better way to go? Instead of one dvi and one Hdmi to dvi

You cannot run dual displays off the model, you will need a external monitor adapter.

But I am running two displays just fine. Once I configure them just wondering if there was a way to make it work with out redoing configuration every time.

"You can either have the internal display with one external display or two external displays with hdmi / dvi and no internal display. So, two total displays." From malibal is there 8130 capable and yours isn't?

They are all the same machine. I assumed you were trying to use your laptop display also. It should be the same as adding a 2nd monitor with the Laptop Display, just plug and play.

    Maybe try a DVI Cable.

I thought they were the same, and No just two external displays is what I'm trying for. There's only one dvi port ... would a splitter work ? Or you saying use a hdmi to dvi using dvi cable instead of what I Use now dvi to hdmi using hdmi cable.

Try this it might work. Hook up only one external monitor > make it your main monitor > disable the monitor on the notebook > plug in second external monitor > enable the one you just plugged in

Think you misunderstand it works. But everytime I restart the extended monitor won't come back (invalid input type). So I can either unplug it all and reset it up. Or if I drop the resolution on my second monitor down from 1920 x 1080 to 1600 x 900 it comes back on right away then I reset the resolution back up to 1920 x 1080 takes a min for it to do this but it applies and the second monitor stays on and then I'm good to go. Hope that makes sense

Also this wasn't directed at xotic never mentioned them till after they replied nor did I ask them for help, but I am thankful for any insight. Hope that maybe someone trying to decide sees they are helpful to not only there customers but other members as well. Thumbs up xotic

Also anyone else feel free to input I'm sure I'm not the only person trying to run two displays. Things like this annoy me I don't wanna reconfig my monitors every time I turn my computer on but if I must so be it.

I only tested this out once so far ( I actually wanted to drive 2 and the internal) but it seems to work fine for me when I plug both in, set my main to the secondary then set my internal to disabled...

I honestly think the only way to do it is once the computer starts up, unless there's some bios option for external screens, I don't think there is right? Maybe one of the fn keys will set it up right, lol idk. Is it that big a deal to just reconnect the monitors once ur computer starts?
