Hey everyone, I've been running my 8150 for under a month now and have had the following issues that I haven't seen posted by anyone else:

    1. A shutdown was experienced with no apparent cause. summary of conditions:
-laptop had been on for ~5 minutes
-sitting on a surface that did not interfere with the fan cooling
    -idling (no programs running)
After this the laptop screen went black, the fans went to 100%, and audible beeping was present. I immediately shut the computer down and waited 2 minutes. After rebooting the computer with no problems i opened the temperature displays and they were as normal as during normal operation.

    2. The onboard microphone turned itself on with no input yesterday. At this point a large amount of feedback was present coming through the laptop speakers. As I was shutting the laptop down to reboot when the screen got to ~50% closed a large high pitch noise came through the speakers and was painful to hear. Upon rebooting the computer and realizing the feedback was present i went into the sound configuration menu in the control panel and shut the microphone volume off with the mute button. Although this is a temporary fix whenever the microphone is turned back on by taking the mute off the feedback is immediately heard through the speakers. It is very sensitive and picks up typing, using the touchpad, coughing, etc.

    3. When a headset is plugged in to the input jack the same feedback as point 3 can be heard through the headset.

4.I've been reading a lot about other owner's temps and just wanted to post my own just to add to everything

While idling my cpu cores are running at ~40C and the GPU is running at 50-55C consistently. During high demand (gaming) i can see the gpu temperatures go up to 80C very quickly. After forcing the fans to run at 100% the temperature will drop to approximately 70-75C while the load is on. Can anyone comment on these temperatures and whether this is an issue as they seem high, especially compared with other owners with the same model. My laptop did have the upgraded thermal paste on it as well.

    Thanks everyone for any input.

EDIT: edited everything for more clarification and other issues.

Unless you have any recording programs on it shouldn't be doing that... I would check with the resellers technicians and ask what's going on. To me it sounds like the mic might have been damaged somehow
