Let me 1st starting to say Xotic PC (Hustady) did an awesome job with service. The wait time from order till receive may have been almost a month... But it was worth it especially for the 6990m. great bang for buck. SSD with clevo and video card is amazing.

Some thing's I don't like is the num pad. i'm use to bottom right key being the right arrow :(. The touch pad is super sensitive and often i reset while typing cause my left side of my right palm.

but question though... 3d vantage said i scored 14200... results said it was low compared to similar machines. I checked notebook check and avg is like 15000s...

Also i applied mx-4 to gpu only because cpu was covered by heatsink that wouldn't come off. also the paste done on the gpu was quite sloppy. It was everywhere. anyways temp max during 3d vantage was 87C.

any feedback and suggestions to boost pc would be good.

I haven't done any mod or overclocking either. pretty much downloaded drivers thats it

Congrats on your new system :) Do you have pics of the thermal paste? What do you mean, the CPU heatsink won't come off? Are you sure you didn't miss a screw or something..? Also, could you post your full system specs? You didn't mention what your HDD was. EDIT: were those vantage temps before or after re-pasting?

If the warning you're talking about on the Vantage score page was a big red stop sign, it's just an advertisement for their system optimization software. You can ignore that- it doesn't reflect your scores.

The heatsink on the CPU should come off just like the one on the GPU. There are 4 screws holding it in. Remove them in reverse numbered order, put it back on in correct numbered order. A lot of paste is not uncommon on the GPU because of the unusual shape (being rectangular means that extra paste is needed to ensure coverage when not using surface spread).

Your Vantage temps are actually pretty decent, so it looks like you don't need to worry about that.

Well I already cleaned up the stock paste. I think the re-paste I did was good... I will try get pictures of the gpu thermal. The temps and vantage score was after gpu paste. I use a 120 GB SSD Patriot pyro 6gb/s. How do I get full specs?

to access gpu i unscrewed 4 screws then it lifted up the heat sink (bronze metal thing). I tried same thing with cpu but it didn't work. pretty sure just 4 screws? even had a little sticker attached to metal heat sink pipe that i guess "transfers" the heat

I'm fairly sure there are 4 screws on the heatsink, yeah. I don't actually have an 8150, I'm holding out for the new model :) I think your reseller (Xotic) may have included a spec sheet with your order, if not (or you can't fink it), just run some system monitoring program and post screenshots. Something like hwinfo64, could someone correct me if I'm wrong? Also, you should probably put your SSD in your sig :)
