I'm looking to buy a Sager (or rebranded) laptop in the near future. I've noticed that the 8130 seems like it is a better deal. Same specs, cheaper price. I'm guessing its only due to upgrade-ability? I think for what I need my computer for the 8130 will do quite well. The games I play run on my current laptop which has a 220M in it, so I'm guessing the 560M will more than exceed the requirements for my games.

Is there any other reason why I might consider a 8150 instead? I don't think I'd keep a laptop for more than 2 years as it is - I travel a lot and it creates a lot of unpreventable wear on my machines.

    Thanks

The primary difference between the two is the power supply. the 8130 is supplied with a 120W PSU, and the 8150 has a 180W PSU. Hence, the 8150 can support stronger cards like the 6990M and the 580M. Not much more reason to consider going for the 8150 unless you want the extra power :)

Here's some links that might help you determine if the 560M is good for your needs:

More than likely if your 220M can run it, so can the GTX 560M :p

The two have the same notebook chassis, however with the 8150 you will have more upgrade options, especially in the GPU category because of it's higher power capability.

However, for the games you run the 8130 should serve you well for a good while. :)

The other differences that weren't pointed out were that the P151HM1 has a plastic exterior and a stock matte display, while the P150 has a rubberized finish and a stock glossy display. Other than that, it's just the power supply difference that others have mentioned. They even share the same motherboard/bios revisions and everything :)

Oh right on. I was planning on going for the 95% Color Gamut matte display anyways. I'm not sure if this is necessary or not but I've talked to a lot of people who have chosen this one and they are very happy with it. Will there be a very noticeable difference between the stock matte display and the 95% color gamut display?

Thanks for all the help again!

The rubberized finish feels really svelte.

This feel is somewhat premium-like, and really good to the touch and feels stable.

I would go with the rubber finish, the two end up not too much being different if you get the new power supply, etc.
