    Got my 8170 today! I really wasn't expecting it due to XoticPC's notifier not updating yesterday when it shipped. I got the email that it had shipped, today, and when I checked the tracking number, it showed that it had already been delivered. Not complaining, though!
    I just got the thermal paste changed from the stock 'clay' to some Noctua NT-H1 and am in the middle of installing the SSD (swapping places with the 750gb it came with). Now, under the optical drive, do I replace the metal 'bracket that covers the hdd slot or do I leave it out for the optical drive to hold the hdd in? I can't seem to get it to go back in and do not want to force it in.

    Ok, I figured it out. the hdd mounts to the bracket then installs. :)
