So 15 minutes ago was playing some Dark Age of Camelot and all of a sudden my laptop shut down. Now it won't turn back on. I was playing on a table in a well vented area. It is not OC'd at all.

I haven't had any symptoms of any other problems and this is the first time it has done this.

I tried reseating the battery, nothing. I've waited to see if it was a heat issue (didn't feel hot at all), nothing.

It hasn't been a year yet so it's still under warranty but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

You may want to try reseating the CMOS battery, that should be located under the keyboard if I am not mistaken for that laptop. Try that first, if that doesn't help or if you don't feel you can do that, I would recommend contacting your reseller to see about getting an RMA.

Okay. Reseating a good CMOS battery, ram, hard drives....still nothing. Time to contact Larry I guess.

Sometimes it helps after pulling the mains, batterie and cmos cable, to boot it up the first time with the cmos batt still diconnected.
An other thing you may try is to press "FN" and "B" right after you press power. This will clear the NVRAM. You know that it worked when the CD-DRIVEs light flashes a few times.

If that doesn`t help then the next step would be RMA ;)

I am kind of scared now, what are the RMA rates for Clevo? A lot of the posts seems to be regarding the notebook not turning on or something of the sort. Is the power supplies of these things like not very durable? I've been skimming the forum for weeks as I contemplate buying my first Clevo but I am seriously having send thoughts.

It's not the people who are happy that post, it's those who have an issue. If only 5 people post about issues every day, out of the thousands of people here, I'd say that's pretty good.

things to check first. when was the last time you cleaned your fans out. could be an overheating problem. you can find temperature monitors in my sig below.
remove the mains and battery and press power button for 15-20 seconds. plug in mains and try and boot. has your psu power brick got a light on it. if this doesnt work then try on battery only. then i would of suggested the cmos battery but youve already tried that.
after it first shut down and when you tried to boot again were there any lights on the laptop at all and did you hear the fans kick in or was it totally dead.
as mentioned an rma to your reseller is then your only option.

Sorry it took me so long to post back. I eventually found the problem. My RAM had unseated itself /shrug but was still plugged in partially. Don't know if it was shorting it or what. RAM now in snug and it powers on just fine. Temps seem fine. I have no clue how the RAM got unseated to start with though and that worries me. I'm more careful with this laptop than I am my children :)

Glad to hear it was just a simple problem that you could fix yourself. This is an issue that also happens occasionally when the machines are sent off to customers (due to rough shipping). The first step in troubleshooting the hardware is just to make sure that everything is plugged in and tight.
