Is the miniDP on the Sager 8651 capable of outputting 144 Hz, if so what cable? I bought a miniDP to DVI cable, but it is only clocking in at 60 Hz.

    Thanks!

    External monitor is a V248QE.

If your notebook has NVIDIA Optimus, it will not be capable of driving any high refresh display.

The Intel hd4600 does support high refresh rates over displayport at 1080p. However you need an active adapter capable of dual link dvi to convert it.

That's what I thought. Thanks guys.

Also, when you say "active".. I bought cable that is miniDP at one end and DVI at the other. It seemed to work fine. Is this the wrong kind of cable?
