So i got my 8660 today and started installing windows and drivers. Went with vista 64.

Every time I start to install protector suite 5.6 which is the fingerprint reader the whole computer locks up. No blue screen, no restart, just frozen solid. Anyone know what might be causing this.

Also I saw someone mentioning an update to drivers or bios or something that was making the HD run cooler anyone know what they were talking about?

I haven't yet installed the fingerprint reader but I have been experiencing some fairly frequent locking up mid-installation of games (the latest being Bioshock and Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer) it's really strange..

    I received mine from XoticPC

Edit = Originally thought it had something to do with powersave, screensaver, etc so I made sure to set them to Never while I'm installing something. Still happened.

I think I know what you're talking about, I reinstalled Vista and had to install the touchpad drivers again and it kept locking during the install.. right at the end of it.

Go to www.clevo.com and download the Touchpad_V drivers, it worked for me
Although I think it appeared like it was locking, I just looked away for a minute or two and everything turned out fine.
