You mean a French "Reseller" of Clevo? :)

    That's a cool mod - literally!

Hmm, it would be nice if Clevo sends out the remodel to its resellers. My temps are good, but that will make them better :)

However, I'm wondering if having that area SO open isn't just asking for trouble with the hard drive.

You never told us what brand of hard drive your 8660 has. All you told us so far is that you got your laptop from XoticPC and that it's running hotter than youknowwhat.

To find out, do this (if you're using Vista):

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Information

Then go to Components, expand Storage and select Disks. The information to the right should bring up the brand of the hard drive and the model number. From what I hear, some brands run hotter than others, so what could solve your problem is a swap to another brand.

You have like 19% of taxes :/ seriously, that's a little bit too much compared to the 5-10% in the USA or 14% in Canada and don't forget that 1 Euro = 1.4658 U.S. dollars ;)

It looks like a good idea tbh. the laptop did need more breathing room in that area. I can't see anything bad happening really.
