I'm thinking about getting one of these soon, and I've got a few questions, so I'd appreciate any feedback :D

    1. First of all, I noticed some people talking about the 8660, so I'm just curious what differences there are between that and the 8662?

    2. I'm trying to choose between the P9600 and the Quad Q9000. There's only a $5 difference here! I know that the P uses less power, and I'm not sure what advantages the Q9000 will have.

    3. I'm already getting the 4GB memory, so will the Intel Robson TurboMemory do anything at all for me?? I keep hearing how it doesn't do anything.

    4. Is the TV Tuner card internal or something I'd have to lag around? Sounds interesting only if it's internal I think.

    5. This Media Center Remote Control...is that just for controlling videos and stuff? Heh just making sure!

    6. I know this sounds stupid...but if I'm not planning on ever buying Bluray discs, there's no point in getting the Bluray, right? Also, to those of you who use Bluray, are they really that worth it?

    7. Lastly, what's this Crazy Machines bundle about? What exactly is it?

Thanks for any help! I think this system will beat the m15x I had previously configured, but I do wish it had some of the interesting stuff like the Command Center and the integrated graphics!

    1) newer gen of hardwares
    2) 2 cores vs. 4 cores
    3) it supposed to start your apps and windows faster, but i don't think it worth the price
    4) Yes, USB as said
    5) Yes, mostly
    6) If you don't plan on getting any BR disc, then you don't need the drive
    7) huh?

    1. Ok well I guess I assumed the 8662 was newer..I just want to know what exactly is different, since I'm assuming it's something minor.

    2. I know it's 2 cores vs 4 cores, but I just wanna know what is overall better (the 2 core is clocked a lot higher), and what the differences are between them, performance wise, etc.

    1. For 8662 you can choose the Quad core and 260M, 8660 you can't.
    2. It depends on what kind of app you have, for regular apps the high clocking the better because they are not programed to utilize multi-cores; for work station apps Quad core would be the way to go.

I got the Turbo Memory card when I bought my M860TU. I have since taken it out and I have noticed not one ounce of difference. My suggestion would be to spend the money instead on a good bottle of whiskey and in the morning you will notice the difference... :swoon:

Just to clear this up. You can't use Quads on the 8660 but you CAN use the 260M GPU. You just need to find one first. :(

...Oh and then update the bios.

Just to clear up that's why I used the word "choose".

Apologies, though the word 'choose' had nothing to do with it. You could read the sentence as though you were talking about both components separately (statement false) and not as a combination of both, which does indeed make the statement true.
