    Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone had a guess as to if sager will be offering the 8800M GTS at some point in the near future, or if that GPU is only available on the gateway systems?

The 8800 GTX is a bit to expensive for me, and the 8700 is a bit underpowered for my liking, and it looked like the GTS would have been a nice in between GPU.

Also if Clevo does not plan on offering the GTS option, does anyone have any idea when a 8900 GTX (not sure if the numbering would correct) will arrive, based on how fast the 7950 GTX came out.

    Thank you for your time,

    me12345

At the present time there are no plans of Sager offering the 8800GTS or a newer GPU (8900). The 8800 was just released and will likely be the top video card for at least the next 6-12 months. (Based on the 7950GTX had a life span of about 14 months before the 8800M arrived)

you mean GTX nad GTS right?

they are the same card, cept the GTS has 32 less shader units, so it was laser cut or something, so they shouldnt differ in price IMO, maybe justin knows more im just kinda guessing.

Well maybe they shouldnt differ in price much but they will. The difference wont be huge but it will cost probably about $150 - $200 more on most systems if it were offered on the same platform.

In practical terms its a $700 difference since the cheapest machine with a GTX is about $2000 and the cheapest otherwise is the $1350 Gateway (assuming Best Buy sale).

8900 ?? Is that a typo for 9800 ?? Or is there a 8900 really coming out/has already come out ? How does it compare to 8800M GTX ?

    Yes.

    Thanks.

I`d bet typo, or 9800, as everyone is assuming.
THe 8800M GTX will be the king for at least 10 months.

yes, he does. At least in 4dmark, the diff b/w the GTS and GTX is like 2-4K points.

Not like that, more like 1-1.5 K.
Benches done WITH THE SAME CPUs.
