Man... every time I see a newer model with a better videocard... I feel slightly more bitter when I look at the specs and what I paid for... for my D900K.
But its still healthy, which is a plus compared to many others with gaming notebooks that was burned-out.
BTW... Thanks for the update Justin. -
YAY!!!
Just waiting for m15x now.... lol sorry but I cant afford that much...
m15x should start lower... plus its 15.4 inch -
YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! time to order then, i've been waiting a while now
-
Justin,
Is the remote for the TV Tuner the kind that fits inside the express card slot? -
Justin,
Never mind. I should READ the page first. -
That's why smaller laptops cost so much more, it's because they're smaller. -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
Rebel - We have two options for the TV tuner, one with the standard remote and one for the Express Card MCE Remote & Receiver.

Hey justin, any trade in option for those of us who bought a 5791 just a couple months ago?
-
Justin,
Any difference between your warranty extensions and Sagers? I am referring to the options on your website. -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
babyhemi, This is what Sager has provided us based on the driver availability from nVIDIA.
morkus64, I am sorry we do not at this time.
Rebel, I will send you a PM with more information. -
Does the single 8800 configuration on the 9262 affect something hardware related compared to the dual 8800 config?
Can't the SLI version ship at the same time, just without the support of SLI? in other words. People could get their hands on the laptop, use it, then wait for the driver for SLI support?
Significantly longer wait... can people get laptops with the second card "on the side" and just plug it in later?
Time to go config. -
I just hit confirm. Now I await my new 5792!!

Other then adding another card and enabling SLI nothing more hardware related changes. I will confirm if cards can be provided "on the side" or with SLI disabled. I will report back first thing tomorrow.
-
If the user knows that SLI will not be available until mid-late january, shipping without SLI enabled should be no issue.
This would greatly accelerate the pre-order delivery time and make tons of people happy I'm sure. -
$2,400 in '03 for my current setup:
Sony VAIO PCG-Z1A
14.1" Display (1400x1050)
Pentium M, 1.3GHz (in this case, I think that means 1.3 gerbils)
i855GM chipset, rev. A3
768MB DDR, PC2700 (slot 1, 256MB fixed, slot 2, max. 512MB)
60GB, 4200rpm HDD (finally replaced with 120GB 5400rpm HDD, no thanks to Sony)
ATi Mobility Radeon, 16MB video memory
For that same price today, I could get a nicely equipped 5791 from Xoticpc, including the following:
17" WUXGA (1920x1200)
Intel® Core2 Duo T7700 2.4GHz w/4MB L2 On-die cache - 800MHz FSB
512MB PCI-Express nVidia GeForce 8700GT
2,048MB DDR2 667 PC2 5300
1GB Intel® Robson Turbo Memory (Vista Only)
200GB 7200RPM (Serial-ATA 150)
But, whatcha gonna do? -
...too many RMAs from DIY attempts to enable SLi?
Not, mind you, that I would ever try such a dastardly thing :wink:Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
wow the more i see it printed the more it ticks me off.. only about 300$ more than i paid for the 8700gt version. wow does this suck for me so freaking bad.
-
I have to be honest, I'm Disapointed. I was hoping xotics and sager's prices would have beaten what I paid for my beast from PCMW.
Do not get me wrong I have nothing but wonderful things to say about PCMW ( what can I say, I Love the CARBON FIBER!. ) But, I feel like I've learned so much from Justin and some of the other folks here, that are XoticPC fans.
The difference in price is not any cheaper than what I paid. In fact, it is still about $200.00 cheaper to stay with PCMW. Not to mention the carbon fiber, the black aluminum notebook case and the trade-in/upgrade program.
I knew the black friday special was to good to pass up. -
HI, Justin if I get a new motherboard and a 8800M GTX SLI for my Sager NP9261 will that now be called the NP9262?
-
Hi justin
>.> is there any way you can get more specific about the ship dates? If I need a laptop by january 10th, do you think this would be pushing it? -
It is a good thing that Xoticpc and also Sagernotebook are offering the new NP9262. Sagernotebook offers the NP9261 and NP9262 side by side and it surprises me that the new system is... cheaper. But marketing is not really my field so I am getting used to this kind of "surprises".
I am a bit dissapointed however that Xoticpc and Sagernotebook seem to focuss on new customers without putting clear upgrade offers on their websites for existing customers. Justin already explained there is going to be a very attractive upgrade plan and I am sure that a lot of existing customers have been waiting for his.
Xoticpc, Sagernotebook and other resellers would/should honor their existing customers by making an attractive upgrade offer. It would have been decent to make such an offer before giving priority to new customers. It would be very rude to put existing customers on hold. I am sure Justin would not do that or am I being naive? -
I wish resellers would just be straight up. Justin why don't you just say you don't have enough 8800GTXs for SLI configuration, or that no 8800 SLI drivers are available yet to enable SLI. Or is it both? I guess if you only have a finite number of 8800s then it makes more sense to sell them in single configuration and shift twice as many laptops than you would in SLI. Next shipment of cards? January?
-
From I have around the net there is an issue with driver support and not a supply issue at this point. Although I am willing to bet there will be on shortly.
-
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
Thing is nVIDIA has not officially announced the 8800M GTX with SLi spec yet, so we will need to wait for things be finalized.
fubarms, It would pretty much be a 9262. The only other difference is the new 9262 has a 2.0M Camera.
bwhxeon, I am sorry this is the best information I have at this time. If I get any updated between now and then you can be assured you all will be the first to know.
hanko panko, We have put our first emphasis on our customers. Before launching the new systems Sager first provided upgrade packages to its existing customers. When Sager put the Upgrade "Packages" together they priced them at their cost. In case you didn't see the upgrade posts, you can read it here. You will see both the 9261/9262 and 5791/5792 will be running for the time being by Sager and its resellers.
TechnoWhore, We have been nothing but straight up with the information we have at this time. You will see we have all of this same information I have reported here in many places on our website. My comment in my first post:
-
What other major changes is in the the 5792 to warrent a $400 price difference when compared to the 5791, the only difference I can see is a 2 GB of ram is now standard, and of course the 8800. Heck there is a $100 price drop for the 9262 when compared to the 9261 and the only difference there is the 8800?
-
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
The 9261 you will see now comes stock with the WUXGA (+$145) and 2x8700GT in SLI (+$395). The 9261 has been upgraded in screen and video card specification.
The 5792's changes are just as you noted. Upgraded to 2GB of Ram and the 8800GTX. (Both the 9262 and 5792 have also been upgraded to a 2.0M Camera) -
-
Justin: are you allowed to send out a DIY manual (Clevo service manual or something usefull) that explains step by step how to change GFX and/or MB in the M570RU?
I'd like to take a look before I decide to do the upgrade myself or let someone else (you?) do it -
So, I still don't know why it costs so much to upgrade my 9260, it cost HALF the price I paid for it! just to get a new GPU.
I don't know I guess I'm still in "sticker shock" -
We still need to know (yes, I'll beat this hore until an answer comes
With a regular 570RU -- is the 8800 a problem with just sleep or _hibernate_? This is a huge distinction to a lot of us (or at least me..) -- if its just sleep, I don't care. If its hibernate, I do care and need the new mobo...
jeff -
Ah I hate to point this out but about half of the cost of the laptop to start with was the graphics cards. So you are replacing half of the system.
-
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
Kwakkel, I will gladly look into this and report back shortly.
skeezix, The new 5792/9262 both have the new motherboard's.There are no problems with these systems.
Unfortunately when new technology is released the price will remain high until the "newness" wears off or newer technology is released. -
Ah, then I am referring to those of us who bought notebooks a month or two backWilly ou be releasing the pricing details today? (ie: Theres the other post from a week back, but it was really just a 'please wait until the 6th for details', and I asked about the sleep/hibernate a half dozen times in there
So please let us know .. for existing owners (recent buyers too!), what are the options, and about sleep-or-hibernate
(Maybe start a new official thread, if this one is only for the two new models?)

^^ The post I created "Sager 8800 Update" lists the complete details for existing owners on this upgrade. If you DO NOT do the motherboard fix on the 5790/1 there will be a S3 problem with the 8800GTX. If you do the motherboard fix there will be no S3 problem. Here are the details:
-
Hi Justin,
I see that the Sli price for 9261 is not specify. So what is the new price again. I checked your website. Thanks. -
Furthermore, it was justin@xoticpc who gave us a hint about what the root of the problem might be when he said that the motherboard issue related to NVidia's decision to manufacture most of the 8800m module itself and to only provide modules that required an EDID-capable display. Try getting anything even close to that out of Dell (or Sony, or ...)(just think, "don't pay any attention to the man behind the curtain").
So, please, let's temper our understandable grief and annoyance at the situation and at least give Sager/Clevo and the resellers credit for not treating us all like mushrooms.
Oh yeah, and let's all remember that, when you play on the bleeding edge, sometimes you're gonna bleed. -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
The SLI 8700's are now stock for the 9261. The 9261 is not available with a single 8700 at this time.
-
(how do we go about making these orders anyway? to you directly, or on the phone? the website doesn't have the options yet anyway.)
Thanks! (I know, nitpicking, but we're talking big cash here
jeff -
So is it available with Two then. What about those who already put in their order. Can we switch to the Sli mode since it looks like few dollar in difference from what i pay to you guys. Mine is still in production.
-
My order will be shipped with an sli 8700GT then Justin. Just want to make sure.
-
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
skeezix, from what we know right now it is only S3 that is affected. I will find out more information on this to confirm and report back.
dtechlogic, You will get the current pricing from the day it ships. You may want to email in for further information. -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
skeezix, We have confirmed it is only S3 that is affected.
Kwakkel, The video card upgrade will be easy to complete and no service manual describing this upgrade is available at this time. If you need any help switching out the video card you are welcome to call our 24/7 support or Sager direct and will assist with this process. -
Justin -- thanks very much! Very good news, which makes a lot of the thrashing people have been doing moot IMO. So how do I go about ordering just the M8800GTX card by itself? Via website possible, or only via phone?

Hi Justin.
I wrote to you an e-mail concerning Banking Wire Transfer payment method.
I don't know if e-mail that i've received after pre-order completion contains enough informations about this payment way. Probably is necessary some other informations... -

Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
We have been getting questions on whether customers will have to pay up front to wait for the 8800GTX. XOTIC PC will not charge any customers card during the wait for the 8800GTX to arrive in.
