    Hello guys,

This morning my 8800M GTX arrived and installing it in my M570RU wasn't quite as easy as I would have though. One of the little black screws holding the old GPU in place was completely seized, and I only managed to strip it completely while trying to get it out... it's the one labeled number 7, for those who know the card.

Not being one to throw in the towel easily I then proceeded to drill out the screw with an electric drill, being very careful to remove the metal chips with a vacuum cleaner occasionally, and managed to get the old card free this way. The stem of the seized screw STILL wouldn't budge, so in the end I just let it be and installed the 8800 over it anyway, minus 1 screw holding it in place.

Things seem to work fine now, I'm getting 9100 in 3dmark06 :D -- but my Dual View setup doesn't work anymore. I tried various drivers (currently using 174.82) but none of them would let me use both the builtin panel and my external monitor at the same time >.<

So, does anyone know a driver for the 8800M GTX that works with Dualview on 32-bit XP SP2?

And, how about some decent OC settings for this setup?

About decent OCing, 600/1500/900 is reasonable.
About the driver, try 174.82, .93 or the latest 175.x drivers.

Your XPS m1530 cannot upgrade. His Clevo belongs to the 1% of laptops that feature an MXM slot, which means the GPUs are detachable.
The XPS does not have it.

Hmm, got the Dualview to work now with 174.82 (didn't work before for some reason)... but I can't tweak anything in RivaTuner 2.06?

Ok @isthemechanic. Some drivers just don`t OC.
Make sure to have this images set :
If it still doesn`t work, 174.93 should. It does for me.

they put threadlock on the screws and some of mine even had a ton. you just needed to make sure you have a "true" #1 phillips some #1's are not really that and they can strip things easy.. maybe think about putting something there so it presses on the bottom right there so the card is not at all loose..

Threadlock? Bastards. But, I will invest in a set of *decent* screwdrivers to replace the hodgy-podgy set I have. Still, those screws are soft as butter and strip very easily.

I mentioned I still have the drilled down stub in right? It wouldn't come out with any amount of effort. If this was on my motorcycle I'd soak that **** in WD40 and bang it with a hammer, but this is a laptop ;)

Overclocking wise I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Both 174.93 and the 175.xx driver don't like my monitor and only let me run it in some ghetto resolution. 174.82 does like it, but doesn't allow me to OC -- but I think I'll stick with that right now, it's not like I have performance issues :D
