Here are some blown up images of the 8800 and a Quick Un-Install guide for the M570RU/5792 Video Card. I figured everyone would like to see it up close and personal so the images are a little large.![]()
For 9262 users, I have provided a image below showing where the "Bridge Cable" connects to the 8800M GTX for SLi.
Uninstall Information
1. Remove the back Panel on the back of the 579x. You wil see the video card in copper casing. Below you will see what it looks like with the video card out.
![]()
2. Next you will remove the video card. There are 7 Screws that need to be removed to remove the card. You will see them labeled 1-7 below. Once you remove screws 1-4 the copper heatpipe assembly can be removed off of the video card and out of the system.
![]()
3. After removing the heatpipe assembly you will only see the video card that is protected with a copper heatsink casing. (Pictured below). Screws 5-7 release it from the motherboard and you can now remove the video card (Pull up slightly and backward out toward the back of the system)

On the copper casing you will see some brief install/uninstall notes. (All screws are labeled in the order they need removed.)
That is it for the removal, now some pictures of the 8800M GTX:

Thanks Justin!
-
Well, that doesn't look so bad. I am glad it is not like snapping a heatsink onto a cpu chip, i think people would get scared having to use any kind of force.
Thumbs up for the info. Thanks Justin. -
Great info and pictures there, Justin! I'm sure someone's going to put this to good use sooner or later.
-
I'll probably be ordering one pretty soon -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
Thanks for the kind words everyone, glad I can help
-
btw, will there be some more pictures + info for the installation of the 8800M GTX? -
Excellent work, Justin.
You're using Arctic Silver 5 on the 8800m there, right? -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
Absolutely
-
Quick question, is the 8800M GTX from the M570RU different from the D901C ?
-
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
Different Casing, but the card under the casing is the same
-
Whats artic silver.. and do all sagers come with it?
-
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
HERE is some info on Arctic Silver.
All Sagers come with it.
-
Neat! thanks Justin.

<bleery eyed, no sleep>
Are we going to need compound for the 8800 upgrade somewhere along the line? I guess the heatsink isn't on there so we pop out the existing card, pop in the new one, compound it, and pop on the heatsink? Dang, I'll have to order me some of that from somewhere.
What are the recommended (and best?) drivers for the 8800? Does it come with a CD or shoudl we head to l2go?

When doing the upgrade to the 8800 it will come with the 8800M GTX Drivers and the card will come in the heatsink casing. All you have to do is swap them around.
The card will be sealed and already have compound on it.
-
Just want to confirm: I cant use 8800M GTX in Clevo M570U right???
Thanks -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
The 8800M GTX does not work in the M570U, it works in the M570 RU
-
Thanks Justin!
-
Hi Justin, you probably don't (but worth a shot) but do you have a detailed guide such as this for a cPU upgrade?
Thanks, -
1) 3 screws to remove the heatsink/heatpipe.
2) then the CPU is accessible for removal/replacement (remember to unlock the latch with a flathead screwdriver)
3) re-apply thermal compound and re-secure the heatsink/heatpipe. -
i dont follow the copper case removing, i bought a 8800m Gtx and it came with the copper case which is different from the m860tu one, there are no screws but i dont know how to take the card out of the copper case....anyone knows how to?
-
-
sorry im not really following, right now my card looks exactly like that, but there are no screws....what do they mean by the yellow pullstrip?
-
there are no screws on the copper caging, there are small clips that you need to pry apart carefully to disassemble it.
-
there are four i think.
edit: scratch that, six. -
Also, I posted a guide with pic in your other thread

Hi justin, I have also a Cleno M570RU with 8700M GT. Can I upgrade my video card to 9700M GTX? What about problems with temperature?
-
-
The heat is not the problem, the M570RU has exactly the same cooling as the 570TU. It is simply that no one had tried it to see if there was BIOS compatibility.
-
The same thing may be with 280M GTX.
-
there are 2 different major bios versions for the 9800M GTX with separate device id's, it's likely that one works, and the other doesn't
-
I have the 5793 and I am running it with the .12 bios. I noticed in the readme file that Clevo released it to fix among other things a compatibility problem with the 9800 video card.
Since I have the 8800, I have no compelling reason to switch to the 9800 but those who do may want to make sure they are running the latest bios to make sure there are no problems. -
The fix in the latest bios was "support 9800M GTS",so nothing to do with the GTX
-
Here's an eBay deal for M570RU with 8800M GTX:
http://cgi.ebay.com/M570RU-U-NB8E-G...ash=item33542833ea&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262
I am not sure if the seller is really associated with OCZ. -
Anyone know what video cards I can put in my np5793 that are guaranteed to work without any heavy mods? My 9800m gt went bad I was told by sager and I'm considering fixing it.
-
officially, go7800/7900/7950 GTX, 8600/8700M GT, 8800M GTX, 9800M GTS/GT
-
Thanks therico, any by Ati?
