    I just downloaded and installed 177.41 drivers from LV2G (uninstalling previous drivers, then running driver sweeper in safe mode, then rebooting and installing with have disk) and the downclocking issue was back! My card was running at a permanent 275core/301mem.

    I tried uninstall/driver sweeper/reinstall and same thing again. I have now reverted to 175.80 which doesn't give me any trouble.

    Have NVidia reverted to an old base for this new series with the old glitch in it? Has anyone else experienced this?

    got 177.26 and no downclocking when on AC. On battery however, it is stuck in 2d mode no matter what. Not that I really mind that :p

    Disable your powermizer options in the registry.

    Start -> Run -> regedit

    Hit f3 and search for PerfLevelSrc and change the value from 3333 to 3322.

    Under that, change PowerMizerEnabled to 0
    PowerMizerLevel 1

    Reboot and try that. If it is still not working, change the PowerMizerLevel and PowerMizerLevelAC to 0.

    That should get your clocks back up.

    I'm running 177.41 without the powermizer off and it seems to be great. Try updating your system BIOS and vBIOS to the latest revisions.

    yea I read about that, but wont doing that set the clocks to a permanent maximum? Which means battery life would really be affected.

    Actually the vBIOS still throttles it down to 2D Clocks. So your battery will still be just fine. Try it and mess around with it and see if you like it.

    Well I just tried this hopefully it will work out right with the drivers when i update. If not I believe I will stay with the 175.63 until something radically better comes along.

    :eek: no backup?

    I dont know why u guys have to mess with ur registry... I had one of the oldest 5792's ~ all u need to do it properly uninstall and reinstall with driver cleaner and make sure you have the .08s bios and the drivers will work...

    I have .08 vbios (clevo one with K|N splashscreen) and .14 vbios and I don't have any issues with any of the recent drivers except 177.41 (haven't tried any other 177 drivers)
