I searched the forums but I could not find any clear answers. Right now I am using 174.90 for my 8800M GTX and I'm quite happy with my performance but I wanted to know if there is another driver I should be using for even better performance. I'm using Vista64 bit. Also I noticed on laptopvideo2go the latest driver I saw was around 169.... where do I get newer drivers (I got the one I'm using now from zfactor)?

Also I noticed my gpu core drops to 383 Mhz while not gaming, and then clocks up to 500 during gaming.. I'm assuming this is normal correct?

So do you think I should go with 177.41 or 177.35 given I have the 5793 with an 8800M GTX? Also should I get the driver from lpv2go and then use their INF or instead find a sager specific driver?

177.35? Nirvana and I didnt even mention that one so thats sorta random :)

Anyway it depends on you, why not try them all out and pick which you like best? I also use 177.41 but I hear 175.95 is good too... In a few days/weeks you'll get a new driver with physX support anyway.

by the way, the "throttling" of your GFX card is normal... it will downclock in 2d mode and speed up when you game.

Well the .35 driver is rated more highly in 64 bit Vista. Also I should copy over the modded INF correct?

177.39 seems to be the most stable driver right now, but 175.95 is specifically for sager/clevo.

Ergh, bad recommendation bwhxeon. Maybe its because of 64 bit but I'm getting artifacts when cloaking in Crysis with 177.39.

I am using 177.72 on my m15x 8800M GTX and that one works very well with great performance, it also downclocks to a lower mode and thus reduces temps when idling. I noticed a 2-3 degree increase while playing Crysis though but also a possible 1-2 fps increase in Crysis.

Did you get any anamolies while playing crysis or any other games? Also is it stable? Anyone try 177.79?

SMOOD: I would be interested in seeing how those compare to these modded 175.63's.

I have only tried it so far in Crysis, but no anomalies and their are perfectly stable for me.

Rofl, I only use crysis and its box to lift up the back of my laptop all my other games run fine though. It does cause some weird things with crysi,s cloaking is messed up and colors seem off.
