Hey,
So I have seen abuncha threads talking about drivers... Many of them have gotten to be alot of pages and its hard to find any good information in them.
Very Simply,
Is there any driver for the Sager 5792 with a 8800MGTX other than the stock 167.43 that works, and increases performaces from laptopvideo2go.com.
Furthermore, in one of the other threads it sounded like in order to get any drivers to work we have to do some sort of bios update? Is this true? Is there no driver from laptopvideo2go.com w/ a modded inf. that you can just install and have work at greater performance, or are we stuck wth 167.43 unless we are a guru at bios and stuff.
Thanks.
(Edit)
If I do need a new BIOS... can someone link the correct BIOS for a sager 5792 and include install instructions (when I had a dell, the BIOS updates were self installers ~ are those available???)

You do not need to install a new bios for good performance. There are hardware oc and software oc. That is when you get into the fancy stuff. I stick with ntune and do ok. You can try the 174 series and the 169 series for good results. I believe 174.13 and 169.09 were both good releases, but I have only tried the 167 on my laptop.

I dont want a driver that underclocks my card tho.

1.00.08 is the most recent version. Here is the link to the file that was provided to me by Pro star.
YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO OVERCLOCK with this bios update and if you downclock the card you will have to restart it to get it back to stock settings.
The file 579bv08.iso is the image of a bootable disk with all the files for updating the system BIOS.
Burn the 579bv08.iso to a CDR or CDRW disc.
Please make sure that the computer is on AC power.
Use the disc to boot the computer to flash the system BIOS.
After the system bios flashed, please load the default settings in the CMOS setup. -
why do i need this bios update?

Why hasnt this BIOS been released by Sager?
Once I install the BIOS then I will be able to install other drivers beside 167.44 and use them properly? (vista 64bit)
furthermore, im not interested in doing a hardware overclock, I just want to be able to try out new drivers and see if they perform better than the stock 167.44
but i have heard currently that the only drivers that work at the 167.44 and the other drivers underclock the card for some reason. -
yes, that is why you need to update your bios.
