man now i cant wait to get home and play with it.. just had to post its just sitting here staring at me now..

more and more I don't see the benefit of getting a second card for myself... imo...
I mean all the games I play fluently @60+fps on high max res.
the only game I would get a benifit from is crysis.
but I hate that game.....
so I just decided to stick with a single card....
I mean 120fps with 2 cards but in reality your eyes can't comprehend past 60.
hope you enjoy your 2nd card. -
lol no i have a 579x model so i went from a 8700 to the 8800... so this should be a large difference for me....
-
-
Awesome!!
I know how it feels!!
neways!! enjoy ur 8800m GTX!!! -
and the new x9000!!!! awesome....
-
Whoa!!!
Just saw x9000 in ur sig!!!
lol! ur lappy is just a cpu away from being UBER!!!
Post ur 3d mark when u have it all up nd running!!
nd may i ask the cost for the new cpu nd gpu?! -
the gpu was 745+shipping and the cpu i ended up not paying for since the guy owed me money (i own a business) he owed me just around 400$ so i said ill take that x9000 you just got .. he agreed.. nice..(i collect my debts...)
just wish i had the new cooler and bottom now.. hmmmm ill have to call sager i guess.. -
400$ for a X90 is relly a good deal.
If 88M costs also 400$ ill upgrade to it.
-
Awesome!!!
Omg!!
i just realized that np5791 doesn't have the revised cooling for 8800m nd X9000!!
I guess sager can help you with that, as u said!!
Good luck nd enjoy ur uber lappy!! -
the stock cooling is fine for the x9000 as long as its not oc'ed.. so if i want to oc this thing then i really need to try to get the new sink.. we'll im gonna call them when i get home today
-
Actually the new heathink makes only little differece between OC & Non OC. it´s the MB itself. New MB with Rev. 5.X is better for X90, much stable and u can OC to over 3.4G per FSB-Software.
-
So Z, I`m expecting a 3dmark score update, since I also have the T7500 and what you`ll be getting is probably what I`ll be getting also...
-
Good luck with you new 8800M GTX -
Then I`ll get a Penryn also. I need something close to 10k to be worth 1.5k$ worth of upgrades...
-
I´m just waiting for an 9800M GTX... Then will be 9800M GTX stock + [email protected] = 12K
I hope -
I can`t OC my CPU since it hits 68C on a constant basis. I just can`t figure out how yours got so far and still remained cool.
Might be the AS5 which seems to be only applied on the GPU in the Sager units.
I`ve undervolted the cpu actually and got an absolute max while running Orthos for 40 mins of 67C.
Usually max out at 59-60C now. -
And I live in an Mediterain Country(Portugal), so were even in the Winter is hot...
Thats what I´ve done. -
(Oh, wait, according to the wags on the internet, it takes about 2 months to stew an elephant.)
-
-
I see. But since right now I don`t need a faster CPU, but a faster GPU and HDD , I`ll have to settle without OCing.
-
Aah, thanks. I mis-read your original post and didn't realize that you could be using the system during that 200-hour period, at least for normal use. Thanks!
-
Later Jun? Let's hope so... -
As long as i can get it before September, might as well be released on August 30th
-
-
well i just got home.. my neighbor had a flood from a pipe that broke in his house so i was helping out as much as i can. ill be putting my daughter to bed them running 3dmark and some other tests after i get it installed..
-
Congrats Z!!!!
-
Congrats on your new 8800m gtx. I know what its like to upgrade from so-so to HOLY S**T. I was using an integrated card on my DESKTOP. It was some 3rd world gpu called Windows media accelerator or some crap. Then I jumped to an 8800m gtx and my jaw literally dropped.
P.S. Zfactor, I've seen George Carlin live. He is my HERO. -
@zfactor, have you done any modification of the motherboard?
-
I dont think he did, just a new BIOS
-
doesn't 5791 required mobo revision for 8800m?
-
FOr it to work in sleep mode yes
-
Will there be such motherboard revisions for the current 5793 when Montevina and Nehalem are out ?
-
-
lol Okay

Congratulations on your new parts, Z. I'm very much interested to hear your 3DMark06 results.
Also temperatures - I recommend using RivaTuner.

As Audigy pointed out, with his T7500+8800M GTX and XP-8600-8900 , and with the X9000 about 9200-9500.
Also XP. -
havent run any benches yet.. im starting with a all fresh install of vista .. so im working on that right now.. i just decided to clean it all out and start fresh..
anyway i can def say the x9000 is FAST.. i dont notice any difference of course with the 8800 in everyday tasks yet.. as soon as im done ill load up some games and bench her.. -
playing with different drivers now but with the newest stock driver from sagers web site i am getting right under 9100 on vista.. so im def in the right ballpark..ill update as i try more drivers..
8800gtx just got here!!!!!
