I recently purchased a 8800 GTX for my Sager 5791 to replace my 7950 GTX. The card is from a Sager 9262, so the copper casing around the card is different. Does anyone know where i can come by getting a copper casing?

you can order it from a Clevo parts vendor like:
.... maybe Sager and their resellers.

its best to contact them with email or phone call.

i dont think you can. tbh when i tried to get the case and fans they were ONLY SOLD with the card and could not be bought separately trust me i tried, everyone refused.. i also tried the same for the 901c and was told the same by every vendor

why cant you just use the copper casing of the current 7950GTX for the new 8800M card.

well i was looking at the 7950 case and the points at which it touches the card are different, so with the 8800 the heat wouldn't be dissipated as well. The 7950 has two points as with the 8800 it has 3 i believe. Thats atleaste what i got from looking at picures of both.

where did you purchase your notebook?

maybe you can contact your vendor and see if they can get you a casing.

... or lie to them and tell them your casing is faulty and maybe they can give you a new one (preferably one that works with the 8800M)... even if you have to pay for it. ;)
