the 8970m is now available in the UK..... actually in stock. As I suspect their dream price that was the same as the 780m has dropped, it is now £99 GBP more than a 770m and £164 less than a 780m.

I think it really has a great deal to offer at this price point, no doubt Nvidia have been waiting to see this before they re-badge and re-release the GTX 680m under the GTX 775m brand - I expect to the GTX 775m shortly with prices around £100 less than the 780m, so roughly £65 more than the 8970m - tough decision, especially if it comes with a higher clock than the 680m and Boost 2.0 of course........ possibly stiff competition for the 8970m.

I was hoping for the W230ST to be available in the UK in a week or 2 but it seems to have been pushed back till mid August, as we had the SM machines early I guess we're low on the stock priority list for the other machines in the 2013/14 lineup

Since the uk is smaller I guess they choose a specific subset of machines parricularly.

I wonder about the 775m too...

No 770m is really a slightly improved 675mx.

Actually more of an overclocked 670mx due to the 192bit mem bus. It's just oced a lot so it's faster than the 675mx.

Oh yeah, I was thinking it was 256-bit. This time around only the 780m is 256-bit (so far).

hm, that makes for quite the gap between the 770m and 780m. really screams for an upcoming 775m :) i probably just mixed that up with the desktop cards, where the 770 actually is the 680 :p

Yeah, it's a huge gap I guess they need to be a bit careful as with GPU boost 2.0 they could steal sales from the 780m market, as people OC the lower TDP 775m......... maybe the gap will be left unfilled for another 6 months until they need a boost in sales?

Desktop GTX 770, GTX 680, and GTX 780m..... all the same give or take a few hundred Mhz ;)

It all depends on their supplies of chips and what they can sell their current ones for. The GK106 is cheaper to make than a GK104.

No, the 770M is cheaper to make than the 680M was and you are seeing the benefit of that.

The 780M uses a full GK104 chip so requires an even higher quality chip than the 680M.
