    8x Dual Layer Burner (DVD±RW, CD-RW) w/ LightScribe Technology

    just saw this at alienwares site.... Is this sorta thing available from sager? Can I get it?? It sounds awesome and from alienware its only a +$35 dollar upgrade.....

    LightScribe is gimmicky... not very useful in the end.

    You can buy any standard slimline optical drive for your notebook.

    its not that great... I have it with my desktop Lite-On DVD-RW.

    it requires to buy LightScribe media... CD are cheap.. but more expensive than non-lightscribe blank CDs.

    it scribes a grayscale image on the back of a lightscribe disc.

    I personally do not find it great.

    yea,my desktop has lightscribe and trust me, the image on it ain't that great,not worth the extra cost.
    Unless you can get it at identical pricing with the standard one, don`t bother.

    just buy a new burner for your sager from newegg install it and then have lightscribe but yeah not worth it imo

    or get a disc printer, I have an epson stylus photo rx685 multifunction (god thats a mouthful...), Does BEAUTIFUL discs, in full colour, along with scanning, copying, photo printing...the works :D

    The biggest problem of light scribe is that it can't have colorful pics.May be there will be a revision some day.But the concept is good.
