Got my 9130 from xoticpc a month ago and although everything works fine and dandy, I recently discovered that the GPU fan is always reading at 100% on GPU-Z, afterburner, and evga (even though there isn't much noise coming from the fan....). I'm not sure how loud 100% fan is supposed to sound, but the 100% reading really bothers me. When I try to use afterburner and evga with the fan curves or let the programs auto-control the fan, the speed just drops to 0%.

I'm suspecting that it's an issue with the custom sager drivers for this card, but I was wondering if anyone else with 91xx and 670m's were experiencing this or have any suggestions besides sending it back for repairs.

I don't have the same model Sager, but many Sagers use the Fn + 1 to change the fan speed. Try that, it might be locked at 100%, or because it is such a new model, perhaps GPU-Z doesn't yet read it correct.

And it is Fn +1, not Fn + F1.

fn+1 was taken away on this years models. I don't think that's the issue here seeing as my cpu fan isn't maxing.

No program will read the fan speeds on sagers, it is coded into the KBC/EC (basically BIOS). the 100% reading is normal and has nothing to do with how fast the fan is actually spinning. There is no way to control the fan speed.

I had the problem where my gpu fan wouldnt turn down when I stopped using the gpu. It would be going full blast until i opened nvidia control panel, then it would turn right down, and was silent. Very strange. I have downloaded all of the drivers available and installed them, I havnt figured out if it fixed my problem or not. Make sure you drivers are updated. GPU-z always says its running at 100%

hmm theriko that's very interesting. I even called tech support and wasn't told of this bios issue. Gunna look into this further. It'd help to get more 9130 users to comment on this though!

it says 100% because it cant read or control the fan speed, its also locked on the slider if there is one, so i wouldnt be too concerned

so it's just a compatibility issue between drivers/bios and software used to monitor fan speeds huh. has anyone come up with a workaround for sagers?
