I just returned an MSI GT60 for numerous reasons, but one of the primary reasons was the extremely firm keypresses needed to get it to respond and the erratically missed keystrokes.

How are the keyboards on the Sager NP9150 and is there one which is both backlit and good for those of who do not hammer the keys?

A few people have received their NP9150 with a faulty keyboard, but mine, like most of ours, are fine. Keys never miss and are not hard to press to get a register. One game I have called Tribes: Ascend is affected by a ghosting issue can prevents me from pressing certain keys when space is held down to ski. All other games I have played are fine.

That is good to hear. I just returned an MSI GT60 as I said and that keyboard annoyed me.

I got my 9170 in with a keyboard issue, certain keys only registered sometimes, regardless of how hard I hit them. Sager worked with me and it was a fast and easy replace I did at home. I paid the cost down, they mailed me a new one with box and packaging for the return shipping and I swapped them out. They refunded the cost they day they got it. Works like a charm now.

Becareful if you order the 9150 dont get the upgraded keyboard as that is the same one as the gt60 steelseries.

I love the keyboard on my 9150. I haven't had any issues with it at all.

Thanks all, I just ordered my 9150 with the stock keyboard rather than the upgraded(?) SteelSeries version.

If you happen to get a keyboard on the Sager that is having problems just let your reseller know. They are pretty easy to remove so many times one can be mailed to you and you can swap them out if comfortable doing so.

i hate my keyboard, left shift doesn't work 70% of the time, but other than that, it's absolutely fine. it's definitely just my keyboard though, hopefully you'll be luckier.

My keyboard is fine. The only problem with it is that the comma key doesn't always register correctly, but I am getting used to that.
