    Hello folks,

I have a 9150 decked out coming from LPC-Digital. The question for owners of this laptop and those that game with it, is do I need a laptop cooler? Is the laptop cooling adequate enough for gaming sessions that run me 4-6 hours? Games I play are BF3, Sims 3  , Age of Empires 3, and NBA 2k12. I am asking because there is a daunting number of coolers out there and I'd rather go without one rather than choose the wrong one. Thanks!

no, it would be more of a luxury than a necessity. The cooling system on the 9150 is sufficient to keep the laptop from getting hot during extended gaming sessions.

If you're using the notebook on a hard flat surface already- no, you probably don't need a laptop cooler. It's best to get the laptop first and then check your temperatures. If they're running high, propping up the rear of the machine will probably do more good than a cooler.

The only time I'd really recommend a cooler is if you use the notebook in your lap and don't already have a lap desk or something similar. The input vents are on the bottom of the laptop and can get covered if you try to use it directly on your lap/a blanket/bed, etc.

The laptops cooling should be plenty to keep it's temps in check. You don't need one at all.

I like having one because I like to overclock the GPU, and it makes me feel better seeing lower temps. Mine also serves as a USB hub. Hardware will last longer the cooler it runs, but like lazard said, the cooling on these laptops is good, and you shouldn't have any heat issues.
