Bought a Sager 9170 through Xotic with the 7970M.

Been working absolutely fine the last 2 weeks or so. Babied the hell out of the thing, it sits on a cooling pad on top of a stand on the ground. Been performing well, no slowdowns or anything. Don't even touch it, I hooked it up HDMI output and run it through wireless devices.

Left it on, went to work, came back, and it's dead. I mean super dead. When I hit power, it just flashes the power indicator lights at me, seems like it tries to restart, and nothing comes up on the screen. I can't troubleshoot it at all.

I'm guessing it's RMA time, but wondering if anyone had any bright ideas I may be overlooking.

Got a hold of tech support, gonna RMA it.

It is in a surge protector and so are the hard drives it's hooked up to. Why? The TV hooked up to the same surge protector works fine btw.

my guess he asked because the surge protector itself could have died or thrown the breaker or just the one outlet on the surge protector itself could have died. Since you have other devices plugged in it sounds like that's definitely not the issue and I'm assuming you did the first troubleshooting step of trying to plug it in somewhere else.

I had to RMA my laptop not that long ago. Turnaround time was very impressive imo.

My issue was that the laptop just straight up died or something, no lights for the HDD or Power, etc. Tried every thing to get it going and it wouldn't work so I had to RMA it.
The RMA was set up, emailed back right away. That first day I probably exchanged emailed with a xoticpc support guy like 10-20 times with very fast responses each time (within a hour) and had it shipped out the next business day.
Sager received my laptop 3 days later and shipped it back the next day I think and used 3 day shipping. In fact, just got my laptop back yesterday :).

Now I'm not saying this will be your experience with it all, it may take longer but I've done quite a few RMA's now and not once have they ever been done this quick and easy.

A note for future buyers, I would get at the least 2 year warranty cause of unexpected issues like this.

Good luck with your laptop bigred389, I know the feeling of having your beast laptop just stop working randomly lol.
