Anyone use a logitech g5 (2 button new version) mouse with the 9260 and
    have you had any problems?

I ask this because I'm thinking of getting a new mouse and currently have two mice. An mx518 and an mx400 mouse
The mx518 works fine on the 9260 notebook or my desktop (but it is showing some signals of wearing out which is why I'm thinking of a new mouse) but the mx400 does not work well on the notebook only on the desktop and here is why.
Whenever I'd go away for a while and the 9260 would go into screen saver mode or the screen would blank and then I'd come back and move the mouse or press a key I would lose the mouse cursor and control of the mx400 mouse. Only a reboot would fix it. So I had to move the mx400 to the desktop where it does not do this and move the mx518 to the notebook where it works fine.

Now this relates to the g5 in the following way...
I've never seen or used one in person but pictures of it "appear" to show that it has the same laser mechanism as the mx400 (which is different than the mx518.
So before I cough up $60 for the g5 I'd like to know if anyone else has had any problems.
Oh one other thing. I never install the mouse software I always use it without (gaming thing) so if you use it without too that info would help in your opinion.

hmm... probably u need to install the driver that came with the mouse.

the MX400 is a perfomance mouse, that has sleep function enabled. that mean when you leave it for a while, it will go to sleep.

the G5 on the other hand, has the sleep mode disabled, so perhaps it should't cause you any troubue?

i personally have the the x510, mx400, and the 2007version G5, i install the software that comes with it. personally i haven't have any trouble with all of them.

Nah you don't ever "need" the drivers except for "special" button defining and such.
On the sleep thing ... the point is the 400 goes to sleep and when it wakes up the cursor is missing. It doesn't do this on my desktop pc which also does NOT have the logitech driver software installed. The 518 doesn't do this on either pc. I concider that a bug with the mx400 mouse.
    BUT I really don't care about the 400 ...
My real question was just if anyone had seen problems with the g5 (2007 2 button version) 'cause that's the one I want to get.

I have the 1 side button G5, and I am very satisfied with it. I have had zero problems with it, other than it missing the forward button.

I have the 2-button G5 with a 9260, and its a dream. My K : D in CS:S improved considerably after I got used to the sensitivity. And it has enough meat to it to be comfy for stuff besides gaming. Drivers have not been any issue, for me.
