I hope starting sometime later this year or early next year Clevo makes an equilvalent or upgrades the 9262 with HDMI. IMO, I think that's the only thing, albeit small, holding the 9262 back. It's still a beast but I think the addition of HDMI would make it an Ultrasupersonic beast.

Games look completely awesome in HD when you play them through your HDTV. :D

I know no word of it has come out yet ('cause I constantly check) but it would be nice. I think Clevo will by early 09. I can't drop a serious wad on a NB until then anyway 'cause it makes no sense getting a new 'puter until I return to the homebase.

Haven't heard anything for a 9262 revision with HDMI. I would guess a revision will come out within six months or so.

On a side note, I don't suppose my HDMI supports HDMI-in would it...?

hmmm...for some reason I thought this beast had that already. Ahhh shucks...that's another thing to add to the list of features i'd love to see the 9262 get.

I would think so. I know when the 360 first came out people was hooking it up to their NBs to play on the road and that was with composite cables. I don't see why the same wouldn't be possible with HDMI with the 360 Elite and PS3. You probably just need to change a few settings on the NB and possibly a tuner.

Unfortunately I can't test that 'cause I have a Toshiba with HDMI but it and my PS3 is at the homebase and I'm not.

I'm going to try it when I get back. I would imagine there would be some sort of software needed to make it display. All new to me.

    only video up to 1920x1200.

audio can be connected to the TV or receiver through analog or SPDIF (coax) from the notebook's audio jacks.

I always carry this in my notebook backpack:

and it works perfect universally to all TV's or receivers. :)

... not to mention I bought it at a 99 cents store. :D

I wouldn't count on it until the second half of 2009, and then only on whatever Nehalem-based successor to the D901C Clevo is/will be designing.

Wait, there's a way to play PS3 on a notebook?

I mean, I thought it was impossible for a notebook to have HDMI input (since other types of connection like VGA doesn't have VGA-in).

I just misunderstood or can I really play next-gen on a notebook (using not just HDMI, but other connections as well).

    Thanks!

Gophn, DVI is video only? Cause I know that HDMI is both. I guess that would make since because HDMI is sending out digital audio.

If you have a tuner that can accept HDMI input on your computer, I can't see why not. I don't know enough about HDMI ports on NBs to know if they are input and output.

I know for the 360 with composite cables you need a tuner that could accept input as well.

yes, the D901C (9262) only has DVI out (video only), which can turn into HDMI out with the DVI-HDMI adapter.

if you want audio, I told you what basic cable to get.

The HDMI ports on the 5796 and 8660 are HDMI OUT ONLY. You cannot use them as inputs to the laptop screen.

To display external sources on the laptop, you need a TV/video tuner card (with whatever inputs you want to use)
